★★★★★ A friendly world-dominating AI vs. a surly nun. A tale of our dependence on technology and the lengths people will go to feel appreciated, wrapped in the weirdest take on the Holy Grail I’ve ever seen. Seriously absurd, and occasionally absurdly serious.

Recomiendo la serie Mrs Davis mucho mucho si queréis ver a una monja luchando contra una IA a la que todo el mundo oye y se deja guiar por ella.

Looking for something to watch, I thought about starting LOST once again, but instead I'll go with other series from its creator :
- The Leftovers, an oldie that I never took time to watch;
- Mrs. Davis, which is more recent and looks really fun;
- Watchmen, a rewatch that could be interesting now that I've read the comics! -
Just watched the final episode of #MrsDavis on #netflix. The plot is bizarre, entertaining and thoughtful. If you liked Dirk Gentley you will definitely like Mrs. Davis.
A nun’s epic quest in a world where everyone is using an AI.
What’s most amazing is that the show was made at all and that it does not end with a stupid cliffhanger just to be canceled.
It has a sound ending. I appreciate that, very satisfying. And totally over the top. -

Die Mini-Serie #MrsDavis über #Religion und #KI hat mich mit der ersten Folge neugierig gemacht. Es geht um die Herrschaft der KI über die Menschheit, um Tempelritter, Nonnen und den heiligen Gral. Irgendwie schräg und witzig.

I've reached the Fiona part of #Elementary.
I can't handle Holmes being so openly fascinated by and gentle with someone.
I'm afraid this storyline is going to break my heart.

Oh, yeah, in other news: I watched the final episode of #mrsDavis at the weekend. Pleased to say they stuck the landing.
It was a perfect mix of sci-fi, fantasy, conspiracy, action/adventure, bonkers surrealism and outright whimsy. It was complex, but not to the extent that, as a viewer, you had to keep notes. And, dare I say it, I thought its approach to religion was quite sensitive. I know some may have taken offence, but you can't please all the people all the time.

Been watching #mrsDavis over the last few weeks, and really enjoying it, bizarrre as it is. But I was very surprised to see Ben Chaplin turn up in it; not seen him on TV since Game On, thirty odd years ago.
FWIW, I always thought he was better than Neil Stuke as Matthew.

I feel compelled to tell you that Mrs. Davis is a *perfect* piece of television.
Best watched with absolutely no knowledge of what's about to occur.
The premise - a Nun is on a Quest to kill an overbearing AI - is about the sanest explanation of what's going on. Every episode has just the right amount of sci fi, humour, and WTAF.
I am *so* pleased it isn't being renewed for a 2nd season. More TV should be one-and-done.

@karenengelbrecht the nice thing with #MrsDavis is that it all came together nicely and built a real story out of it. Too many series end up drawing things out forever, or just copping out at the end. Very well written.

#MrsDavis was one of the strangest yet most engaging and well-written series I have seen in quite some time. All that can be said is that it’s about a nun who goes up against an #AI. It really was endearing, but easy to miss and any description cannot do it justice. Available on #HBO at least in Finland.
