je me relance dans mes investigations Speech-to-text et Text-to-speech. Bizarrement c'est quelque chose qui revient régulièrement. Est ce que des gens savent ce qu'est devenu #DeepSpeech et si #MozillaVoice est toujours maintenu?
De mon côté je me base sur #mycroft mais j'ai le sentiment que le projet est un peu à l'arrêt mais je me trompe peut-être.

Forse non tutti lo sanno ma esiste un progetto di Mozilla chiamato Common Voice per creare un motore di riconoscimento vocale. Tutti possono partecipare semplicemente riconoscendo delle voci. Stasera c'è un evento dove partecipare tutti insieme chiamato Mozilla Voice sprint!

امروز داشتم به پروژهٔ آواهای مشترک #موزیلا #MozillaVoice نگاه می‌کردم. دیدم که ما تو #فارسی هنوز خیلی عقبیم، از دو جنبه:

- تا الان حدود ۲۷۰ ساعت صدای فارسی به پروژه اهدا کردیم، در حالی که ۱۰ هزار ساعت نیازه. البته حتی انگلیسی هم به ده هزار نرسیده، ولی ما تو فارسی خیلی عقب‌تریم.
- تو بین کاربرهایی که بیشترین صداهای فارسی رو اهدا کردن، من هیچ کاربر خانمی نمی‌بینم. اگه خانم‌ها مشارکت نکنن، نرم‌افزاری که در آینده درمیاد برای تشخیص صدای خانم‌ها کمتر دقیق خواهد بود.

این صداهایی که ما به پروژهٔ صدای موزیلا (voice.mozilla.org) اهدا کردیم و می‌کنیم واقعاً قراره یه چیزی ازشون دربیاد! گزارش انتشار آخرین نسخهٔ #DeepSpeech رو در وبلاگ موزیلا بخونید. این همون نرم‌افزاریه که به عنوان ورودی، صداهای ضبط شدهٔ ما رو «یاد می‌گیره» و به همه این امکان رو می‌ده که بتونن صدای طبیعی آدم‌ها رو به متن تبدیل کنند. هنوز خروجی فارسی‌اش آماده نیست، ولی وقتی صداهای اهدایی به حد قابل قبولی برسه، اون هم حتما میاد 😀

@esureL Well, I am not sure whether it is a lack of interest or whether it is more that #MozillaVoice has so far been promoted primarily in male-heavy areas such as coding and FOSS channels etc.
(Okay, admittedly that only leads to the next question why not more women are interested in coding and FOSS, but that is a whole new box that probably isn't easy to solve; for Mozilla Voice, the easier solution might be just to promote the project in other circles.)

Mh... I really think #MozillaVoice is an important project, but I am wondering whether the corpus might not be that useful if there are not more female contributors?

When I listen to confirm samples, they are most often male, so I wonder if it might become hard to train a speech recognition system with that corpus that will also properly recognize female voices. Is this an unnecessary worry?
