While more Americans have been seeking to claim Canadian citizenship by descent under the Interim Measure that IRCC uses for claims of citizenship by descent until Parliament could address the rights violations found in the 2023 *Bjorkquist Decision on Lost Canadians*, the numbers who will choose to apply for a certificate of citizenship is unknown.
