I couldn't get any photos other than this, let alone photos inside the building, because the concrete fence is quite high. It was difficult to climb the fence, especially since I wasn't in the mood to do that at that time.

There is very little information I can get about this cinema. This cinema was popular back then and if I'm not mistaken this cinema closed in the late 1990s, so it's probably been almost 30 years as of the time I posted this.

Driving to the #MovieTheatre this afternoon, I saw a line of banners hung on poles advertising a #T20WorldCup #Cricket #tournament happening in #Lauderhill, #Florida (where I lived during high school).
The #demographic change there is astounding.
We were the second Black family in the city in 1973, now it's almost all Black, and heavily #Caribbean.

The original Hollywood Theatre on Yonge north of St. Clair slowly disappeared over the years. In 1975 you could still see the original moorish inspired facade. Built in 1930, it was the first theatre in Toronto built specifically to show talking pictures. The Red Mill Theatre stood at 183 Yonge Street (just north of Queen) in downtown Toronto through the early 1930's. This photo is from 111 years ago today, April 8th, 1913.
