Never knew that #MoviesAnywhere was linked to #YouTube. 🤷

In the age of digital not-really-ownership, #MoviesAnywhere feels like a... somewhat reasonable compromise?

Buying a movie on one digital platform buys it on all of the digital platforms. You still don't actually own it—the IP holder could choose to universally delist or change it, and you will still be dealing with streaming compression—but you have redundancy against spats between individual companies, and choice of which service you're actually going to watch on.
