Just watched "The Banshees of Inisherin", another winner from Martin McDonagh – funny, tragic, surreal, disturbing, visually striking, and with a wonderful #score by Carter Burwell. A lot of messages to be taken from it too. I'll be thinking about this one for a while yet...

Just got round to watching "My Policeman", and I have to be honest I'm struggling to see what all the hype is about. Just all felt a little dull and predictable. The last few minutes with the older characters were quite touching, but Harry Styles, try as he might, appears to have the acting chops of a garden shed.

Finally watched ‘NOPE’ w/ family last night. This a really great article & think one of #JordanPeele ‘s biggest inspirations esp since he started movie w/ it.
Didn’t take a Google search to understand all his influences bt very much enjoyed the depth of his effort as well as the watchability…chk out why the monkey 🙈
One of my highest compliments is > you dont know what’s coming next. #movies2022

Trying to catch up on the #films I missed in 2022.
#GlassOnion was great though I didn't like it quite as much as Knives Out.
#Nope might be my favourite film of the year, I shouldn't have put it off this long!
Anyone here see “The Banshees of Inisherin”?
It’s absolutely gutting to watch Colin Ferrell not understand why his friend doesn’t like him anymore. Maybe because I was once ghosted by my closest friend?

Went to watch #Avatar: The Way of the Water and have to agree that it seems to be better with fans than critics, who have widely panned it.
For one, director James Cameron is clearly creating a beautiful universe, and you feel invested in the characters and their environment. And it builds upon the magic of the first film. Whilst the general good vs evil is wearing thin, it's still spectacular to watch.

I was watching The 355. Not a bad movie. Action thriller. #movies2022
🎞 GUESS THAT MOVIE!
At the Royal Albert Hall in London watching the Cinematic Sinfonia, a live symphony orchestra play the score to this classic. #movies #movies2022 #FilmScores #film #movie #films
I finally got around to watching Guillermo Del Toro's movie Nightmare Alley, and honestly surprised like Martin Scorsese, why this film didn't get the kudos it deserved. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
As Scorsese wrote in an LA Times op-ed: "If you decided to just file “Nightmare Alley” away under “noir” or some other category, I would urge you to take a second closer look." #NightmareAlley #movies2022 #movies #GuillermoDelToro #MartinScorsese
In movie news...I'm always so disappointed in these Indian western crossovers. Same tropes - weddings and gossip and barely scratches the surface on important social issues. More representation please! #IndiaSweetsAndSpices #movies #movies2022 #films
Magnificent. Absolutely stunning performance from Viola Davis, Lashana Lynch and breakout acting from Thuso Mbedu. Even though historically inaccurate, the Dahomey female warrior tribe did exist. ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2

That moment when you get chills. Had the same feeling when I watched Spotlight. One of pure horror and secondly of absolute pride being a journalist and the hard work to expose terrible truths.
The book 'She Said' by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey was one of the turning points for the #MeToo movement. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So I watch a lot of movies! Here are few I've seen recently:
The Menu: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fiendishly delectable
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery: ⭐⭐⭐ Entertaining, but does not surpass its prequel
