Going to try using the original Conn 3 that came with the horn instead of the Bach 12C. Getting a less edgy tone and better access to the low register, but still good upper range. Also looks very space age :) #trombone #mouthpiece

I always loved Sonny Rollins sound on his album "The Bridge". On "Without a Song" it is beautiful, on the Solo break following a fabulous Jim Hall even heartbreakingly so.

His sound here differs from earlier and later recordings. I think partly because of his mouthpiece choice. Before he was mostly on Links, and after on Bergs. The Selmer Soloist he plays here somehow amplifies the beauty that was always there.
