#OTD in 1978, an estimated 20,000 people attended a Journey & #PabloCruise gig held outdoors in rural Tiffin #Ohio
There were many beards & #moustaches reported, as well as much #marijuana being consumed, and according to a witness, a good deal of it apparently by #NeilSchon alone.
Cars parked in a nearby #cornfield, and the bands performed during the day on a basic concrete slab under a #plastic tarp without any lighting.
Journey's big rig equipment trucks could narrowly make the tree lined turn on a dirt road into the wooded area to load behind the stage. The diesel exhaust from the trucks mixed with the sweet #cannabis smoke as the stagehands attempted to get Pablo Cruise's gear out of the way.
Robert Palmer was billed but could not appear due to illness and was replaced by a regional artist no one cared about or remembers.
