Das war in der Woche, nachdem Zappa gestorben war. Einer von ihnen meinte: „Zappa war so streng. Man durfte sich nicht verspielen. Er hat alles gehört. Es war so eine Erleichterung, ohne ihn zu spielen. Und, Mist, jetzt ist er da oben und hört wieder alles!“

In the fifty years or so since the #MothersofInvention and #HenryCow introduced the world to a whole new musical paradigm called avant-prog, the nebulous style has shapeshifted between the world of chamber music, classical string ensembles and the world of freeform #ExperimentalRock but very few have muddled the distinctions as successfully as ASCETA seems to have on this debut self-titled release.
