Happy that my hands are almost back to normal! Left hand is good to go and the right hand, especially the thumb, is still causing a little pain. I’ll take it! 🎉
My Mother’s Day card finally arrived! My son felt awful about not sending it in time, so he stuck a gift certificate in it before mailing! I’ve saved almost every card he’s ever given me (37 years worth!) and it breaks me up to see them, so I don’t do it often ~ he’s mush like his Ma 🥰 🥺 💜
The odometer on my recumbent bike turned over 900 miles today! I started using it in June ‘25 and got serious about it in September to now. Considering that when I first started I could barely ride for more than 10 or 15 min., I think 900 is a nice number! ✨ 🚴♀️ 💪 🦵
Bonus: for anyone dealing with eczema, virgin coconut oil totally works! My worst area is my scalp and after leaving it on for 30 min. then washing, I’ve had no flakes or itching for 5 days now. Score! 💯

For this past Mother’s Day, FCJ Refugee Centre hosted a Creative Wellness Workshop to create a safe, welcoming and healing space for migrant women. Participants called the experience relaxing and therapeutic. We focused on connection, and self-care while building meaningful friendships in our community.

On my mental soundtrack on this Mother's Day: the queer chorus I sing with performed this song earlier this year, and it hit me right between the eyes emotionally. The pain of my parents emotionally distancing themselves from me as I became ever more assertive about being my true queer self still rankles almost 50 years later.
"I come from good people
I have journeyed far from them
My mother and I are two of a kind
And I wear my father's face
I have left them far behind
We will meet in another place" -
So was in charge of all 3 children to give partner a break for #MothersDay.
We went to a kiddie amusement area and did rides and Farris wheel. I made tofu and veggies for meal. Made them clean.
Tried to turn on Bluey but my toddler freaked out and said no screen time, that he wanted to do nothing / play lonely
Then he took a bath happily and fell asleep.
It was such a chill day. I'd rather be a father over going into work any day.
