🛣️ Route 66 turns 100 in 2026.
Oklahoma’s getting ready: classic cars, fiddle contests, neon parades—the full Americana send-off.
But Route 66 is more than nostalgia.
It’s Dust Bowl migration, road trip myth, and the slow heartbeat of small towns across America.A century of the Mother Road. And it’s still rolling.

It would be hard to find a more #quiet hotel room than the gimmicky “Cavern Suite” inside Grand Canyon Caverns, once a premier attraction along Route 66. #opcSpecialTheme 📸
I’m not sure how many actually shell out the cash for this experience—It’s currently $1000/night for 2 adults, which does not include breakfast or wifi (not sure how many channels the TV can pick up either). It doubles as a nuclear fall shelter, though. #touristtrap #route66 #motherroad #cavern #cave #hotel #arizona
