@ThunderHoney IKEA has some great patterns and colours. I think that their fabrics tend to be on the stiff side, which may have created some trouble for you. I forget which view is which, but I made the longer jacket, with the full-length "collar". There are a number of variations, so it may be different from yours. These aren't great shots, but they show you the ones I made, relatively problem-free.

That looks super cute! And look at you, blending with your lovely curtains! My collars have lain quite flat. I used a sheet for the first version and a poly-cotton for the second, and I wear mine a LOT (lost the first in some café, it seems). I have assorted colours of linen to hopefully make another one sometime soon.
However, I've done a bit of an archaeological dig in my sewing supplies, and there are about 20 projects I have mapped out in my brain. Not only that, but a woman in my sewing group gave me her former wardrobe, all rayon batik. It's all quite wearable for me, but modifications are required for several garments (i.e. #pockets)

That looks great! I wear a #MeMade wardrobe almost exclusively now, and have ventured into quilt-as-you-go, so there may be a quilted #MossJacket somewhere in my future!

I'm super pleased that I not only know what a yoke is now but I can make one for garments that I actually wear. This one is sewn using the "burrito method", an extremely cool way to sandwich a garment between 2 layers of fabric on top.

So, we've been really experiencing *winter* in #YEG but today is a balmy -2. I'm back to #sewing class and doing well with a repeat of the #MossJacket that I made a couple of years ago. I came home early from class yesterday because I couldn't access the PDF instructions on my iPad.
Getting lots of tips for my spring travel to #korea and I've officially got the time off from my p/t WFH job.
I finished watching #TheRedSleeve, a truly fabulous sageuk #kdrama. -

I have to sort out my gear and pack my car since I'll be doing 3 #SewDays this week at a sewing shop. Although I occasionally sew a few seams at home, my productivity is far higher when I leave home to sew! I finished a #StasiaDress last week that I'm super happy with so I'll probably cut out another with more thrifted fabric. I also have linen for a second #MossJacket that I'd like to at least cut out. That would mean actually sewing with #GoodFabric! First one went well. -

#MeMadeMay2023 @sewing #HinterlandDress Met a relative’s widow for supper in Kalispell #Montana. I managed to leave my #MossJacket there which I confirmed after the relative phoned the restaurant for me. I have data but no phone service in the US, apparently.

@hollie @WorstedSkeins @sewing I have linen waiting to become a second #MossJacket but I’m afraid to fall in love with it. That would really alter how affordable #sewing is as a hobby. It’s #sustainable, I know, but probably less than keeping fabric out of the landfill.

The #DawsonTop was made with thrifted cotton jersey. Nothing is an exact match but it works for me. #ItHasPockets #pockets #sewing

This dress was made about 4 years ago in #Vietnam with some #BaliBatik. I took a dressmaking class and the tailor helped us to draft patterns. I'm happy with the match with the #MossJacket I made last year with a recycled sheet and some patterned cotton I bought in #Sinagpore. Also, new #haircut.

I didn't line the #MossJacket. It's made from a sheet which was part of a box that I bought for $20 so I've had the opportunity to mess around with several patterns to get them sorted. I have linen for my next iteration. I have SO many hoodies and heavier jackets already. I mainly just need an extra layer to throw on when I'm chilled or going out. The dress is #HinterlandDress, made with batik after my #WearableToile turned out nicely. I have another batik for #3 #Sewing

As a relatively new garment sewist, I'm really trying to become proficient at a pretty small number of patterns. I prefer wearing garments that are relatively simple, and made of interesting fabrics/colours.
Getting better with #AshtonTop, #HinterlandDress, and I nailed #MossJacket first time around. I had an easy time making the #LimestoneLeggings top and now, I want to draft and make my own sports bras. Next up is #DawsonTop with knits. -

Yay!! I'm trying to clear off extra table space for #Sewing over the holidays and I'm a HUGE fan of the #HelensCloset patterns! Recently completed #AshtonTop and #MossJacket. The jacket is a perfect fit and style for me and I have linen for #2. I'm working on #2 of the top but it needs modification, especially the armscye. Figuring out the facing. Seems much easier doing it with the side seams open. I also have #DawsonTop and fabric for 2 of those. I'm mildly obsessed. -
