In difficult times, it is often good to do something for the soul. I have renewed my mini #mossGarden. Please don't collect #moss in the wild + don't tear off any large pieces. These were growing in my car parking space. You find moss even on concrete. Collected in respect, they teach me a lot about #ecosystem #diversity and human hubris ( #ecosystems are more complex than we think). After 3 years a younger, exceptionally talented dancer by the name of Hotoke Gozen (仏御前 1160-1180) caught Kiyomori's eye.
Born in Kaga Province, Hotoke came to Kyōto in 1174 (aged 14).Although Kiyomori kept his infatuation under control, Giō understood her time was up and that soon her home and stipend would be given to her rival.
The Heike Monogatari describes how Hotoke Gozen became Kiyomori's lover after inventing a modern-style of dance on the spot.
