On #montreal4riseup, there's the song “L'ennui”, live at l'Achoppe from Mortier, now here's a part from “L'ennui”, live at Turbo Haus.
As mentioned earlier, Mortier is an antifascist band of comrades, that many of them have been active alongside us since the early 2000s. Members played with Jeunesse Apatride, Scab Coma and Union Thugs,
The video excerpt comes at just the right time, taking in one of the song's epic moments.
“It is said that idleness is the mother of all vices.
To keep busy, we'd stone the police
And waged war on ''boneheads''
Fights in bars
Fights in demonstrations
To end up in hospital or a courthouse
Via cells, neighborhood police stations ”
(translated from french)
The song from the comp was recorded at l'Achoppe anarchist social center during a benefit show for our comrade Ripley, arrested on May 1, 2021, and recently sentenced to a year's house arrest. She is blamed of trying to attack the police with a firework, now considered here a weapon by the state.
L'ennui is about fights, and subtly way about the anti-fascist struggle.
Solidarity with Ripley & fire to the prisons !
