April 2026 in review / Récap d’avril 2026
Yet another super busy month, so no big personal update this month either. Things will settle down in June, I just have to keep it together until then! I've updated my Resources page, adding a few links: a file converter, a watermarking tool for batches of images, and a tool that generates an RSS feed of new book releases by authors you like. What I've read / Texte 📚 Books / Livres In English Fiction A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping, by Sangu Mandanna. Soft and sweet and funny […]https://alexsirac.com/april-2026-in-review-recap-davril-2026/

March 2026 in review / Récap de mars 2026
It's been a hell of a month and a hell of a week (in a good sense!), so apologies for this monthly recap being the latest I've ever done to date! The weather is beautiful, I'm tired but in a great mood, I'm a year older (and I've reflected that in my monthly Now page update), and here are my recommendations for March 2026.Oh, and I've also finished my physical therapy for that broken foot from last October. We're still not fully there, but I'm really doing better and excited to start going for […]https://alexsirac.com/march-2026-in-review-recap-de-mars-2026/

February 2026 in review / Récap de février 2026

January 2026 in review / Récap de janvier 2026
Yet another intense month, so keeping the personal part short and going directly to recommendations. What I've read / Texte 📚 Books / Livres In English Fiction Vera Wong's unsolicited advice for murderers, by Jesse Q. Sutanto, was brilliant. It was also my first fiction audiobook (not counting World War Z since I had read it half a dozen times already) and a great one to start with. We Computers, by Hamid Ismailov, was fascinating. I really liked Sascha Stonach's The Dawnhounds, […]https://alexsirac.com/january-2026-in-review-recap-de-janvier-2026/

December 2025 in review / Récap de décembre 2025
Yay, it's the end of 2025 and the beginning of a new year! I'm doing this as a proper December 2025 recap and will hopefully follow up some time in January with full-year recaps. Best wishes to everyone! What I've read / Texte 📚 Books / Livres I only have fiction to recommend this month. Oops! In English Woodworking by Emily St. James, a novel with two great storylines entertwined. It's about being trans and knowing it (or not) and living with it (or not) and being accepted as you are […]https://alexsirac.com/december-2025-in-review-recap-de-decembre-2025/

November 2025 recs / Recos de novembre 2025
Hello hello! It's November and I've been blaming all my issues on it being November, the bleakest month of the year. It is totally unfair of me as I am struggling on a lot of planes that have nothing to do with the lack of sunlight, but this way I can keep ignoring the fact that I am exhausted and overworked. I dyed my hair blonde, though, so not all is sad and bleak. Speaking of ignoring stuff, I injured my foot again at roller derby practice and am once again going to need at least two […]https://alexsirac.com/november-2025-recs-recos-de-novembre-2025/

October 2025 recs / Recos d’octobre 2025
What a month, my friends! I've watched some ice hockey, officiated my first roller derby games, helped a friend move, spent slightly more time doing absolutely nothing, against every fiber of my being except the one that needs to stay alive. Let's do this. (Also, I've renamed this monthly post from review to recommendations, which is more accurate. Feel free to give feedback on that.) What I've read / Texte 📚 Books / Livres In English Fiction Emma Pattee's Tilt is about an extremely […]https://alexsirac.com/october-2025-recs-recos-doctobre-2025/

September 2025 in review / Récap de septembre 2025
Yet another long month, with much more energy and happiness as before even though a horrible cough had me suffering for a solid week and a half! It's good to be « back to school », resuming roller derby training and Italian classes. I've also received my replacement parts to play Ring Fit, which has done wonders for my health, physical and otherwise. Big thanks to my friend Jacky for giving me the motivation I needed to get back into it! August 2025 in review / Récap d’août 2025
I spent a week of holidays in Southwest France, at my uncle's place. He lives off-grid. Going to fetch water at the village every morning, not having electricity and therefore keeping my phone off, and spending our mornings at the closest city's swimming pool made for a lot of physical activity and psychological healing. It was really wonderful and exactly what I needed to reset my mind after a tough few months. I hope the mood boost will remain! May 2025 in review / Récap de mai 2025
This was a busy month, so I'm once again doing the bare minimum with the monthly recap, sorry! I am, however, catching up on the missing week of April as promised. So you won't get much personal fluff, but you do get all the recommendations and even a bit more!
