📷 In a previous life, I was in and around hot air balloons a bit. Striking as they are in the air, sometimes they can be more so when on the ground, being inflated. Of course, not many people get the chance to go inside them when they are on the ground, being inflated, but if you should get the chance, don’t forget your camera. Hot-air balloons took off at Montgolfières Gatineau early this morning (free access).
I understand that hot-air ballooning isn't considered an environmentally friendly activity due to the emissions of CO2. However, given the number of people enjoying the spectacle, I believe its environmental impact might be less significant than it appears.
