Hier wurde das "Rem" an einer #Krippe in #Europa ratlos als #Nashorn gedeutet & als griech. #Monoceros & lat. #Unicornus wegen der Krippe mit #Jesus als weißem #Lamm symbolisch verschmolzen. The real Rosette Nebula lies in the lower right, glowing blue and white in this wide deep-field image. It’s linked by golden filaments to other nebulae in the region. At the center is cluster NGC 2244, whose stars shape the nebula’s form. Found in Monoceros, it's 5,000 light-years away.

The reflection nebula IC2169 (aka Dreyer’s nebula) in the constellation Monoceros. It is part of a complex of massive stars known as Monoceros R1. On the top of the image, clouds of ionized hydrogen are glowing in red. Photography taken with a 400mm F/D5.6 refractor and a color camera. It is a composite image combining 13h cumulated exposure time in RGB (no filter), with 4h in narrowband (Ha+OIII filter).

The Seagull Nebula, in the constellation Monoceros.
Only a few hours to get this shot in last night as we're pretty late in the season now. I got 2h 52m worth of time before it set below my neighbor's trees in the South West. I kinda wish I'd spent more time framing up Thor's Helmet a bit better, but I was worried that I'd push the Seagull too close to the outside and start getting coma on it, too.
