What if #CepheusEngine was right about space careers and having them all separated is better than clunky stuff #MongooseTraveller does? I mean, I like how Mongoose did it, it was my first exposition to Traveller and yet... some of these elements seem forced?
Maybe I could follow the Classic Traveller route, just separate between Military and Civilian careers and call it a day? Why complicate so much?
On the other hand Cepheus has too much of those careers.

I haven't really tried to code since my company changed courses supplier nine months ago. Instead of excellent 70-hour JavaScript course step-by-step I got separate lessons, out of order, missing important improvements.
And now I'm sitting here, tired after rolling half of MgT1 subsector by hand, trying to come up with backend for my own automatic subsector builder with options to adjust it to MgT1 (+space opera and hard sf), MgT2 and Cepheus.

When I first read the Solomani aliens book, as a teen in the mid 80s, I was not sure what I was going to find. I was pretty naive and sheltered, being a white RPG gamer in the US in the pre-web era, so some of the implications did not land. Based on previous experience, I expected the “evil supremacists” Imperium-view to be softened *somehow*.

I wish I understood what Mongoose was doing wrong with their PDFs that there are so many missing images so I could explain it to them. It may have to do with image formats and the fact I’m mostly reading them on an iPad, but who knows, and it seems pretty consistent across whatever platforms I’ve tried.

I’m studying some ideas for a future hard sci-fi adventure using Mongoose Traveller 2ed and Orbital 2100, with player characters landing in Europa (Jupiter’s moon) to study the chance of life in the ocean under the moon’s icy shell.
I’m thinking about giving them some kind of submarine vessels, like a bathyscaphe or armoured diving suits, and probably a mobile base. Have any of you thought about how to design a vehicle that can be at the same time a dropship and a terrestrial base/vehicle to travel over the surface of Europa and transport the bathyscaphe to a chosen site?

The fact that it took us 40 years of #TravellerRPG before we got a supplement on space exploration is wild to me.
I am enjoying most of the #MongooseTraveller Rim Expeditions, but I’m not sure I appreciate the “defense” of the Solomani as “not Nazis, just patronizing”. 😬

Part 9, and now it's time for the pirates! Pirates and smugglers are the criminal faction in the game Starsector, a sort of space Mount and Blade.
(The AI generally prefers to generate women, so I will have to adjust the prompt to force it to generate some men)
