yesterday I was at the Legion of Honor with my sis. I remarked that all these humans in the portraits from hundreds of years ago, look like people we see every day. we haven't changed.

then this morning I see this quote attributed to Plato (I haven't looked it up to confirm):

Ever since the election I’ve seen several memes which basically boil down to don’t sacrifice friendships because of politics. In the past, I more or less went along with that. Now, though, I’m not so sure. If someone I consider a friend is okay with casting their vote for a group of people who want to actually harm large numbers of people, including me and, ironically, probably them, I’d at least want a good answer as to why. We’re far beyond just disagreeing on foreign and monetary policy. The #GOP has abandoned basic humanity, and if people are okay enough with that to vote for it I’m not sure common ground could be found. #JustSaying #ActionsHaveConsequences #MondayMusings #WeAreSoScrewed

Ich bin im Urlaub. Es ist anstrengend, physisch. Und die Ferienwohnung hat Vieles nicht, dass ich zu Hause habe. I miss the "dealers choice" at the pub. When beer was bought in rounds, your mate would go to the bar and ask "what you having?" and your response would be "dealers choice"
They would chose a beer for you, based on what they knew you liked, and what they were willing to spend. Although 'back then' most beers were roughly the same price. And you'd get to blind taste a beer before knowing what it was or who brewed it.

I miss that blind tasting.

I think a substantial part of leadership is just getting balls rolling. So often people say "there is a problem" or "we should do something" but don't take the extra step to suggest a course of action. It doesn't always have to be the correct course of action, but when someone throws out a plan it usually gets the conversation started. The rest of leadership is getting everyone to follow the plan. 😂​ #MondayMusings
