Hi, Mastodon Family. I used the #Monarch multiline #Braille device as part of my work in Worship for the first time this past Sunday. In a typical service, I work with around ten pieces of music, which I have memorized. When I help proofread the service bulletins, I save a copy for myself and add bits of musical notation, key signatures, lyrics, etc., to prompt me as we are going thru the Live service.

The multiline environment is a joy to work with, now that I am getting used to it. I was a bit concerned about the sound of the display refresh. As it turns out, I'm far enough away from the mics and there is enough room noice in the church to keep this from being an issue.
The Monarch rested comfortably on the music desk of the organ. My only issue was in making sure that I didn't bump any of the buttons on the front of the device. This actually happened during the funeral which took place on Sunday afternoon, and I was rather embarrassed to ask our vocal soloist what piece of music came next while I reopened the document. Will definitely be more careful next time!
In the next couple of weeks, I'll be entering fall music into our collaborative document, and hope to use the Monarch in that environment as well. Yesterday, I downloaded our Staff Meeting agenda and worked with it in realtime using the Monarch. That was also a refreshing experience. I enjoyed using point and click directly in the document to take notes.
For me, Email seems to be the easiest way to move work documents to and from the unit, but I hope to better acclimate to the Google and Microsoft storage options that are also available on the device.
Thanks to all who continue to be encouraging and supportive of my adventures in the Monarch Rise program. Hope to meet some of you at this year's APH Annual Meeting in the fall.

The #Monarch has officially been added to my workflow. Just proofread this Sunday's service bulletin, received in Keymail. When working with the Mantis, I would add my own notes to the document on the Mac, then save to a drive and load on the Mantis for Sunday. Emailing it to myself and opening/saving on the Monarch was indeed more efficient, as is reading multiple lines at once. We'll see how it goes on Sunday when I use it Live in the service. Have already checked the weight capacity of the music desks of each of our instruments and they will hold it nicely. They're made for large hymnals, etc. Thanks, all for the encouragement!

After a busy work day at the church, I took time this evening to work with the #Monarch. Our ministry team currently works collaboratively in Google Workspace, so added Google to KeyDrive and set up my Email account. Increased proficiency with the "point and click" and "touch" gestures. In addition to completing the course modules with Project Rise, my shortterm goal is to get up and running working collaboratively with KeyWord and the documents from Google Drive. Looking forward to proofreading our service bulletins. I have developed such an effective work flow with my Mantis and Apple devices that the multiline environment is taking a bit of getting used to, but I'm looking forward to learning more and growing with this innovative #Braille device.

Started watching Monarch and holy shit… where the hell has this been hiding? I figured it’d be another “throw a giant monster at the screen and call it a day” series. Nope. Great characters, solid story, and somehow it actually makes me give a damn between the monster scenes. Didn’t expect to get hooked this fast.
