Thanks to super-secret government technology arpeggios no longer sound like nails on a chalkboard in AmigoTracker 1.21! I also managed to squeeze some extra performance out of the resampler, allowing a 2x output sample rate within tolerable loading times.
The song is 4mat's amazing "back again".

andrew sega (necros)'s title track for the tetris-alike Xixit is one of the best examples of what the MOD format is musically capable of.
unfortunately it is usually rendered by trackers for computer speakers and sounds like tinny garbage. we're used to that, but we don't have to be.
i had some fun re-rendering the track with FastTracker at its highest possible settings, and then doing some light remastering to open up the upper and lower ends. this is what, i imagine, necros wanted it to sound like on a great stereo.

La conocí hace bastantes años, en aquel tiempo, estaba buscando en Internet el programa para Windows "Nero Burning ROM" (un clásicazo)
Y, encontré su "Keygen" (medicina, crack, etc, la jerga de aquel entonces apuntaba a lo mismo)
Al ejecutarlo, de manera despreocupada e ignorante, comenzó a sonar, a todo volumen, una hermosa melodía, y, quedé fascinado, enamorado y lo demás
Así que, me dispuse a cargar el ejecutable en REsHacker, y, en la seccion de misceláneos, encontré su módulo de música, en formato XM, un poco de Google-Fu, me llevó al
camino correcto, usar Winamp y un plugin para Tracker...
Instalé todo, arrastré el módulo a ese mítico reproductor, y comenzó una hermosa relación de más de 19 años...
Fue y es la locura, buscar más keygens, para luego descubrir chiptune.com, modland etc...
Ripear módulos, grabar desde la línea de audio del PC, para después aprender a convertir a WAV
Tostar discos con esa música (aún conservo uno de esos ejemplares)
Escalar a música de consolas de videojuego, de computadoras de la épocaAquí el tema el cuestión es, que, me fascina como suena el chip #SID de la #Commodore64 !, tanto que, escribí un script, para convertir esos módulos, esto se sabe ya
pero, qué tal si paneamos a pseudostéreo esas 3 voces, y las nivelamos, para que suenen aún mejor y hacer notar el sentimiento que de verdad quería trasmitir el artista?De eso va mi proyecto semi-finalizado del año pasado...

#introduction Greetings, everyone, from the Mistigris computer art collective! We started releasing artpacks in area code 604's #BBS PC underground scene in 1994, full of #ANSIart, #ASCIIart, #MODmusic, #EMags and other good stuff, extending into the early Internet (first homepage on Geocities, many hours whiled away on the IRC) but drying up and evaporating by the turn of the century in the transition from the BBS/CLI to Web/GUI paradigm.
Then we stewed in nostalgia until hosting a reunion for our 20th anniversary in 2014, which got us back on track to releasing artpacks again -- now with representation from vintage #textmode art fellow traveler forms such as #PETSCII, #ShiftJIS and #teletext!
