The world music business moves on. Hurricane Helene was unable to stop new record day Friday. Saturday morning finds DW listening to Bill Frisell and friends Breaking the Shell record, Guitar Jazz with Andrew Cyrille on drums, and Kit Downes on keyboards. I think Bill charmed him into playing synths for this recording. Anyway DW likes it and we're spared as he has cans on.

Thursday evening has settled down after a surprise thundershower so we have some #NewMusic playing, Noah Garabedian’s “Consider the Stars Beneath Us”. This recording by a rising star is #piano #quartet #jazz in a #PostBop #ModernCreative vein. Noah plays bass, Carmen Staaf a sparkling piano, and Dayna Stevenson swings on soprano and tenor sax.

Friday evening’s #Recording is a modern chamber music trio recording of #ModernCreative music with #banjo #bass and #Mandolin making up the trio. Edgar Meyer bows the fiddle parts down low in this novel string band. Mostly music composed by the performers with an odd bit of Bach arranged for the trio. Interesting music.
