  1. I'm finally starting to slowly address the diesel locomotive shortage in my fleet. Here's DB Cargo 232 618. This is a heritage locomotive wearing the old DR livery that operates in the modern times and has all necessary UIC markings for doing so.

As such it makes a good addition for running modern freight and special excursion trains.

  2. #ModellbahnMittwoch bonus pic: taking the floor railway to the third dimension!
Based on an idea and thanks to the lego construction work from my friend Alex we were able to operate trains on two seperate levels successfully for the first time :)

The uphill spiral and bridge proved to be one of the most interesting parts of this layout as everyone was eager to try out if their train would get up there.

  3. The current state of the Desiro Classic collection:

    Lausitzbahn, Trilex, ODEG, Städtebahn Sachsen.
In the real world, ODEG and Lausitzbahn met for a few days during transition of the Cottbus - Zittau line and as the Städtebahn livery outlived the company itself it also met ODEG and Trilex liveried units.

Furthermore, it seems that the Desiros originally commissioned for Lausitzbahn once the franchise ended went on to MRB, then to Städtebahn from who MRB took over again after the company went defunct and once the MRB contract ended, the Desiros were added to the Trilex fleet. While I have not been able to find a list of the vehicle numbers, there are Desiros that wore 3 of the 4 liveries shown in their lifetime.

  4. Since I was asked for more running videos of my #modeltrains, heres the most recent addition to the fleet on its first spin around the loop after configuring the decoder: a DB Class 442 #Talent2 multiple unit

  5. At last, a new shunter joins the fleet to replace the GDR-made V100 model. It's another small locomotive of east German origin, albeit a more obscure class, the DR V102.1 in a post-reunification DB red livery.

In reality, this locomotive is 70 centimetres shorter than E69 05, so likely the shortest model in my fleet.

  6. #DCC supply using DCC-EX with an #Arduino Mega as a control station has been connected to the outer circuit and so we get to see the Wittenberger cab car with its lights on for the first time :)

  7. New addition to the fleet that's just arrived already at the front of the consist, although just for pics today as unfortunately no time for a running session until next week.

  8. And straight out of the museum collection comes the authentic East German class 244, one of the oldest models I own, pulling era-appropriate Deutsche Reichsbahn coaches, making a brief encounter with the APT-P in the curve. Obviously in reality, those two never met.

  9. For the more modern interests, an #ODEG #Desiro also makes an appearance and I just have to say, its one of the best H0-scale trains ever made.

  10. Sharing some familiarities with the APT-P is the German #ET403, in reality also a short lived high speed train with tilting that made passengers sick and was soon disabled. Lasting some more years in actual passenger service than the APT-P, it also wears one of the best liveries ever concieved by its operator, Deutsche #Bundesbahn
