This backdrop construction technique from the the Spring 2026 issue was pretty neat - a 2.5D layered backdrop based on photo of a prototype scene.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised that micro model train layouts are a scene, they even have their own pretty nice journal - The Micro Model Railway Dispatch.
I think I would find the operational side a bit challenging, but still some pretty sweet layouts in there.
