The 'Blowfly' steam loco I was building a few years ago, and sold as a working chassis, has just sold again; now with boiler parts.

I hope someone gets her running some day.

Just got back from the dawn ride:
1. I got rained on, which was actually quite nice once I stopped and took my glasses off.
2. I found a house with a front yard full of stacks of miniature railway tracks.

#BikeTooter & #Rain & #ModelEngineering makes for a nice start to the day (but it's summer, so I'm about to go to bed).

Just remembered the time a #ModelEngineering magazine misspelt 'brazed' and the next issue had a bunch of letters to the editor either offering or requesting "braised boiler fitting and vegetables" recipes.

I did an #introduction on the Mastodon instance I first joined, but as that's so longer with us I no longer have a visible #introduction. Time to rectify that.

I'm retired after spending nearly all my working life at #BBC #Research. I worked on a variety of stuff but the Transform PAL decoder is my favourite.

I like to dabble in a range of hobbies. #ModelEngineering, #singing, #food & #drink, #photography, #OpenSource software, #ModelRailways are dominant at the moment.

Another random photo from my Flickr albums. This one is my model beam engine, constructed from a kit so I didn't have to do any machining, but the polishing and painting is all my own work. To give a sense of scale, the floor tiles are 25 mm squares. As Mastodon doesn't show a preview for Flickr pictures I've attached a small image directly. Click on the link to see a larger version.
