The clothing store next to the Mod Shop was an eclectic one, perhaps holding the city's most diverse selection, considering it catered to a crowd who would come in with entirely new forms to trade for clothing more suited, often selling what they'd been wearing and buying nothing at all, and the eccentricly accomodating tailor who owned it.
At this moment, however, his client was a bit more mundane than usual...
A middle-aged human male stood on a platform, as a tall, slim, monochromatic wolf flitted about him, gingerly taking his wrists in his soft fingers to pull him into poses, with a holo-scanner in the other, shooting quick beams as it took various measurements.

After deciding it felt right to make a character in #Modders #Jewish, I wanted to do a little bit of digging, because I know #Tattoos and #Piercings aren't considered #kosher, and her whole family has some far more extreme #BodyModification going on. (Furries)
Came across an interesting article which points out that the specific line in the #Torah / #OldTestament, #Leviticus 19:28, is somewhat vague and seems to apply more to 1) not self-mutilating for the dead or an idol, and 2) that God is not asking anyone to self mutilate. Also, when we apply that to the context of things happening at the time, we see some pretty brutal practices, and some pretty severe infection risks. That's sort of vagueness and context is common for Leviticus.
So I wonder if, in a future where these #BodyMods are common, and "Image of God" is not as widely interpreted to be a statement of physical likeness, could the opinion of what is "kosher" in itself be different here?

Settle my argument that the subculture described in my #Scifi setting of #Modders is not unreasonable...
Imagine you lived in a future where #BodyModification technology was at the point that you could quickly and cheaply get pretty much a full rework of your body, and one of these was a potentially reversible procedure to make you an IRL #Furry by giving you #anthropomorphic #animals features, such as fur, tail, muzzle, etc. Imagine this is mature technology, and normalized enough, that there will be no medical or societal ramifications if you get such modifications.
Do you get the #BodyMods to make you a Furry?

Small update to my recent #HideousDestructor weapon pack. A detonator is now required to actually detonate the new "grenades". These will spawn alongside them, almost all of the time. They can also be found in backpacks.

Recently decided to start working on creating my own #HideousDestructor weapon pack, and first on the list is a "grenade" you have to manually detonate. Still a bit of a work in progress, but not too bad for my first actual bit of content!
