I can finally announce a small little project I've worked on for a while: "hybuild".
It's an #gradle #plugin, which should help #modders of #hytale with easier building of their #mods.
Currently, it supports detecting the hytale installation on your PC as well as deriving various paths like the server's jarfile from it.
It also adds launch configurations so you can more easily launch your debugging server from a simple gradle command.I'm already using it myself to build my (indev) mods, and it works flawlessly.
That being said it's still very early in development, and certain platforms I dont have access to might be still sub-optimal (primarily MacOS). If you have an non-linux workflow and find any bugs, please reach out (or open an issue) so the plugin can be improved!
It's available from source and as a maven dependency; More about it at the work-in-progress documentation! (Currently only via the readme in the source repository; but I'm working on an website!)

After deciding it felt right to make a character in #Modders #Jewish, I wanted to do a little bit of digging, because I know #Tattoos and #Piercings aren't considered #kosher, and her whole family has some far more extreme #BodyModification going on. (Furries)
Came across an interesting article which points out that the specific line in the #Torah / #OldTestament, #Leviticus 19:28, is somewhat vague and seems to apply more to 1) not self-mutilating for the dead or an idol, and 2) that God is not asking anyone to self mutilate. Also, when we apply that to the context of things happening at the time, we see some pretty brutal practices, and some pretty severe infection risks. That's sort of vagueness and context is common for Leviticus.
So I wonder if, in a future where these #BodyMods are common, and "Image of God" is not as widely interpreted to be a statement of physical likeness, could the opinion of what is "kosher" in itself be different here?

I like to think the nipples / genitals are always there, and if they're not showing, it's because they've been combed over to either shield the sensitive skin from the cold, to be a bit less exposed around people who might find them a little unappealing, or as a fashion statement. :3
This is the dress code for the Mod Shop in #Modders though: no clothing beyond lanyards, genitals and all other mods exposed.

Small update to my recent #HideousDestructor weapon pack. A detonator is now required to actually detonate the new "grenades". These will spawn alongside them, almost all of the time. They can also be found in backpacks.

You know, suddenly, this implies to me that there is a structured #philosophy in the future of #Modders, a combination of #stoicism, #hedonism, and #science, call it #StoicHedonism if you will, in which practitioners aim to break down inhibitions and the judgmental side of them, and achieve "total acceptance" of the world around them...
In a sense, they've made a whole school of thought out of "don't kill the part of you that is cringe, kill the part of you that cringes."
Perhaps I should be writing that down on top of the other stuff.
Also, thinking about how I've never fully written out the idea of a "#deviancy scale" or a test with it outside of this thing, and I know that's actually a really important metric for a lot of things in applied #psychology, so that might be interesting to write about too...

#ShowerThoughts about something I'm writing for #Modders...
I imagined Herbert (the guy who was cryo'd in the 1980s) asking Nuki (the author-insert who was born in the 1990s) if functional #immortality is a slippery slope to paranoia or megalomania, and she responds with "Some people do, that's why the technology keeps advancing, but it actually makes me a lot more concerned for people who don't have a recent backup: if a plane goes down with me on it, my forks go on, but everyone else? I don't know if they even have a backup, let alone a recent one. I'd rather deal with the inconvenience of my body being destroyed than see someone die for real."
What if living indefinitely in a high-freedom state actually makes you MORE empathetic, because other people's #mortality is more real to you?
I should go somewhere with this...

I keep wanting to write something for #Modders where Marigold becomes a regular attendant of church services, but I'm unsure how to quite straddle the line between weird religious erotica and a chapter that reads like weird Christian fanfiction without being dry or uninteresting.
Like, I'm envisioning the mainstream Christianity that remains by the 2120s as being similar to the universalist unitarianism of today. I'd also really like to make sure that it's clear that hardly any clothes are being worn in this church.
So like Marigold shows up wearing nothing but Jewelry, and the priest is a naked woman with a little collar and some jewelry.
But it's not like a sexual thing, no one wears clothes in the 2120s.
Yeah see every time I try to write about it it just starts to sound kind of insane.
...but maybe that's good? Because even the author is having trouble handling the #FutureShock factor?

By the end of the 21st century, parents will shift to encouraging their children to date members of the same sex, to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Same sex relationships in high school will become a norm, with the only straight relationships being between cisgender and transgender partners.
By 2100 however, this will fall out of style as methods of birth control are perfected.
In the 2120s, conservatives will still be railing about the degradation of society, as young people are encouraged to date who they want, even if that means same-sex relationships.
