Well, trying something out, was working on possibly modding #Sonic1 so it can be accessible to us. Actually made it pretty far actually. added in some things for a prox indecator for obstacles, spikes, walking sounds for Sonic when your not holding the down arrow to roll in to a ball and pick up speed, really interesting for sure. I actually made it pretty far in the game thus far, made it to act 3 of Green Hill zone with what I've got now. Its definitely a work in progress and I have to work within the limitations of the Genesus hardware since that's what the emulator is emulating, and there will be probably a lot of level memorization required just because of the way things have to work given the limitations of the sounds that can be played all at once, but hey, it works though and that's a start. yes, I did use #Claud to #VibeCcode this, and I'm super far from even attempting to let people try it, heck, I have no idea right now what will happen when I do get past act 3 in to the boss level, let alone any of the other levels in the game, so its gonna have to be probably months before I do anything with it release-wise, but I'm definitely working on it though. I want to work on all 3 of the original Sonic games. Also, as a #blind person, I learned a whole lot about how #Sonic moves. I had no idea for example that Sonic does walk when you move to the right, but if you hold down, he rolls in to a ball and rolls across the map to pick up speed, or just how important momentum is in this game, because without it, you will get stuck in the level, so much to learn, but I do think its worth the attempt. Plus, I made it to 1/3 which is more than I've ever made it in a Sonic game before. Any #Modders out there who mod Sonic, if you want to work with me on this, I'm more than happy to do that with you. Wtf #EA in best #EA tradition is exploiting the fuck out of everyone they can.
This time #modders. EA forces you to use their shop for mods AND takes 70% of the money. (Note: Steam takes 30% and eats all of the distribution and payment provider costs)
For a game that released 11 years ago (Sims).
And they also do not allow you to release the mod anywhere else for free either. 1/2

I can finally announce a small little project I've worked on for a while: "hybuild".
It's an #gradle #plugin, which should help #modders of #hytale with easier building of their #mods.
Currently, it supports detecting the hytale installation on your PC as well as deriving various paths like the server's jarfile from it.
It also adds launch configurations so you can more easily launch your debugging server from a simple gradle command.I'm already using it myself to build my (indev) mods, and it works flawlessly.
That being said it's still very early in development, and certain platforms I dont have access to might be still sub-optimal (primarily MacOS). If you have an non-linux workflow and find any bugs, please reach out (or open an issue) so the plugin can be improved!
It's available from source and as a maven dependency; More about it at the work-in-progress documentation! (Currently only via the readme in the source repository; but I'm working on an website!)

The surround sound buzzed as the wallscreen was lit with a 2D video of an old rock concert, where some sort of punk-metal band was playing an indoor show to a large audience.
The band's setup was relatively minimalist, in terms of lighting and other effects, and especially wardrobe, considering none of the members were wearing even accessories let alone clothing. For the most part, they were just well lit at the front of the stage, with thin-bodied guitars and transparent drums which maximized visibility.

Fun Fact: there are hemoglobin alternatives which are More efficient and not red.
he big one is Hemocyanin, which uses copper instead of iron to oxidize, and is blue: that's why some animals, like octopi, have blue insides.
There's also Vanadium based Vanabin*, which is yellow and is suspected to also be oxidizing, and Hemovanadin, which is green and is used by a few large insects.
There are a couple animals which just dissolve oxygen directly into water, meaning their blood is mostly clear, or pale.
So if you have a character who has blue, yellow, or green insides, that can be the explanation for it.
Suddenly wanting to write about characters in #Modders who have all of these blood substitutes, or perhaps just some sort of synthetic coloration added so they can have cool looking insides. I'm going to go ahead and say that Jack probably has glands for both hemocyanin and hemovanadin, leading to weird blood colors that change with diet...

I wonder how long until they figure out how to make a synthetic organ which processes blood nutrients into a hormone or other chemical when it's below a certain point. Obviously, insulin and seratonin would be the big ones for that, but I'm more excited by the idea of synthetic Estrogen and Testosterone glands.

It made his origice stand out, but also made it look a little more inviting, like guiding lights for where the penis went... Exactly what he was going for!
He hit the confirmation button.
The machine whirred up, and he felt it pull him against it as a suction began on his groin area, followed by a tingling at the edges of his vulva.
He twitched, sucking in a breath, "Ahh... I remember this part..."

I have a #Modders scene ideating itself in my head where Nuki ropes Marigold and maybe another character into painting each others' nails/claws, and at first it's like, why would we do this when we can just get them permenantly recolored or use some other sort of automation? But then they start to get the idea that the fun is in the act of doing it itself, not the result.
Also, Nuki has goat hooves, and I'm sure those are fun to paint.

Nuki folded her wings as she alighted upon the window of a tower, high above the Emerald City of Oz. Far below, the people in the street slowed to a crawl, near frozen in relative time.
The large dragoness walked on all fours over to the teakettle, and with a flick of her fingers, began a fire beneath it. She barely had time to put leaves in the pot before it boiled, and dismissed the flame before pouring it.
She waited for it to steep, watching the steam particles rise from the open top and the discoloration of the water spread out from the leaves, as she resisted the urge to command it to finish. She would need to practice her patience for this, after all.
She glanced idly down at her jewelry, the soft blue glow of the supercritical plutonium reflecting across the room's metal, a gentle warmth against her bare scales.

After deciding it felt right to make a character in #Modders #Jewish, I wanted to do a little bit of digging, because I know #Tattoos and #Piercings aren't considered #kosher, and her whole family has some far more extreme #BodyModification going on. (Furries)
Came across an interesting article which points out that the specific line in the #Torah / #OldTestament, #Leviticus 19:28, is somewhat vague and seems to apply more to 1) not self-mutilating for the dead or an idol, and 2) that God is not asking anyone to self mutilate. Also, when we apply that to the context of things happening at the time, we see some pretty brutal practices, and some pretty severe infection risks. That's sort of vagueness and context is common for Leviticus.
So I wonder if, in a future where these #BodyMods are common, and "Image of God" is not as widely interpreted to be a statement of physical likeness, could the opinion of what is "kosher" in itself be different here?

Random Legalistic Stuff I've decided they have in #Modders, because it's about a future where things are better, and these make things better...
Some sort of national, multi-choice voting system which allowed them to break out of the old partisan system and elect candidates from a wide range of ideas. The 4 main parties of the North American Union are LuxComs (Luxury Communists, yes that's a reference), ConSoc (Conservative Socialists), Libertarians, and probably some right-leaning party that we'd consider Left for today, because that follows trends.
A constitutional amendment that effectively sets up that in order for a felony to have taken place there has to be a tangible harm to a real person or the realistic threat thereof, which was passed by a multipartisan coallition as part of the leadup to the events of 2069. (They reference this occasionally)

Interesting experience just now...
In #Modders, there's a part that I wrote like 6 years ago but still haven't published, where Marigold is first introduced. Basically, a 20-something male comes in wearing baggy clothes and a hoodie in summer, acts all shy and nervous with them, goes into the bug machine for a complete full-body makeover that only Nuki has seen. An hour later, out walks a beautiful Golden Retriever woman. She looks in the mirror and starts hyperventilating, collapsing and nearly fainting at her new appearance. Nuki says this is now rare, but a reaction when people get their perfect body in one go.
I've always worried that scene was a bit unrealistic.
Was idly poking at an AI Image Generator while stuck in bed just now, thinking it'd be nice to have some randon pictures of a golden retriever girl, and it gave me several images of exactly the character design I was thinking but better, and I realized, if I suddenly got that body I would have that reaction.

Settle my argument that the subculture described in my #Scifi setting of #Modders is not unreasonable...
Imagine you lived in a future where #BodyModification technology was at the point that you could quickly and cheaply get pretty much a full rework of your body, and one of these was a potentially reversible procedure to make you an IRL #Furry by giving you #anthropomorphic #animals features, such as fur, tail, muzzle, etc. Imagine this is mature technology, and normalized enough, that there will be no medical or societal ramifications if you get such modifications.
Do you get the #BodyMods to make you a Furry?

The past week I'm having the recurring image in my head of Reggie, the skateboarding Opossum from #Modders, grabbing the skateboard with her long prehensile toes or tail to do tricks. I have to figure out, 1) what sort of tricks an opossum could do using those prehensile feet and tail, and 2) what sort of protection they might wear.
I'm thinking of like, gloves for hands and feet which go all the way to the knees / elbows to have a pad there. They can also protect the shins and forearms that way, and she doesn't have to put on more than 4 things at once. She's probably got a few sets, maybe ones with pleather wrapping for winter, and fishnet-like wrapping for the summer.
She might also wear something to protect her tail, at least the end of it, and her crotch, seeing as she's one of the characters who states she doesn't own pants...
(By the 2120s, it will be normal to not own pants)

Imagining characters in the #Modders setting saying that they "aren't attracted to humans", which is a really interesting concept considering these characters technically ARE humans who've had animal features added... But I can imagine someone like an opossum character who grew up in a family of anthro-opossums looking at humans like "they don't have fur or tails or snouts and that's weird because everyone in my family has that."
I wonder what the criteria are for that, psychologically / neurologically. Like at what point of normalization would a non-human body type have to be for you to no longer be attracted to the human one?

TODO: have a human who doesn't have any furry mods show up in #Modders who's like, only a meter tall as a matter of genetics, if only to subtly remind people that yes, humans do come in that size...
...the question is fitting that in with all the sex scenes...
......unless they meet this character at the sex club, in which case it is a sex scene......
.........now that's an interesting idea, a human who is the size of a short-species furry having sex with one.........
............this is where my mind goes before 10:00 in the morning............

You know, suddenly, this implies to me that there is a structured #philosophy in the future of #Modders, a combination of #stoicism, #hedonism, and #science, call it #StoicHedonism if you will, in which practitioners aim to break down inhibitions and the judgmental side of them, and achieve "total acceptance" of the world around them...
In a sense, they've made a whole school of thought out of "don't kill the part of you that is cringe, kill the part of you that cringes."
Perhaps I should be writing that down on top of the other stuff.
Also, thinking about how I've never fully written out the idea of a "#deviancy scale" or a test with it outside of this thing, and I know that's actually a really important metric for a lot of things in applied #psychology, so that might be interesting to write about too...
