Привет, Хабр! Сразу оговорюсь - я не сетевой инженер и не айтишник в классическом смысле. Мои познания в сетях ограничиваются сертификацией CompTIA Network+ и любопытством. Так что если сетевики увидят, что можно было сделать лучше - буду рад конструктивным комментариям. Теперь к истории. Пару недель назад я переехал в новую квартиру. Первым делом занялся интернетом - позвал ребят от провайдера для установки оборудования, а сам полез в минишкафчик в стене, куда заходят все провода. Внутри обнаружил кучу всего: телефонные провода, что-то непонятное и несколько коаксиальных кабелей. Один заходил с подъезда, второй был подписан «зал», третий - «кабинет», четвёртый не подписан.

:boost_ok: Help with considerations on MoCA vs Powerline Ethernet
I'd like to get my Wii and Wii U working with the internet but it appears that my WiFi signal to my basement is just bad enough that, while the network is detected, it typically doesn't connect.
I have a free Coax cable right behind the TV I use for the Wii/Wii U.
Should I use MoCA or Powerline Ethernet, or another solution entirely? What would I need to get? Can I use one of these solutions to also strengthen the Wireless connection in this basement?
I also need to have some way to either use WEP security or bypass it using Ethernet in order for classic Wii functionality to work. If I do Ethernet, I know there's a product that will allow me to hook that into the console and it'll work.
My ISP is Xfinity and I have one of their modern XFi modems (and no other relevant routers)
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Feel free to ask additional questions for more details if needed.

Falls das mal jemand braucht: Hier grob vereinfacht das Schema, wie ich die Verkabelung bei mir in eine Busverbindung geändert habe. In den anderen beiden Zimmern brauch ich ohnehin kein Ethernet, anderenfalls würde das etwas anders aussehen.
Zuvor unter #MoCA war das sinngemäß genau gleich, nur halt mit passenden Breitbanddosen (+Terminierung an den Enden).

Mein vorläufiger Zwischenstand zum Thema Kabel-Ethernet:
* Giga Copper G4204C (G.hn Wave2) haben vor zwei Jahren keine vernünftige Verbindung über die Koax-Kabel hier zustande gebracht. Hatte ich dann zurückgeschickt.
* Seitdem war Hirschmann INCA 1G (MoCA 2.0 bonded) im Einsatz, lief meistens stabil. Umbaubedingt wollte ich eine weitere Dose drüber nutzen - Fehlanzeige. Paketverluste und Bandbreiteneinbrüche.
