Topics of #ClimateMigration #ClimateRefugees continue to be raised at #COP27 #cop27egypt and more widely within #ClimateChange #ClimateScience. Yet #migration and #mobilities studies provide nuances and subtleties, not always accounted for in #climate focused discussions.
A summary is at https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/disaster-choice/202007/can-climate-refugees-have-hope based on the science:

We finally made it to the #fediverse, so it's time for a brief #introduction!
We are an interdisciplinary research group based at the Dept. of #Geography at the University of Innsbruck exploring transient spaces and societies at the intersection of #urbanisation, #mobilities and #digitisation. We take a critical perspective on these cross-sectional themes and scrutinise how social practices and power relations shape them. See more: https://www.transient-spaces.org/ -
@mimisheller great to see you here in the #fediverse I am very much looking forward to follow your posts.

Hi, I've moved! I migrated my account over to hcommons.social this morning and am checking the place out. Meanwhile, a new #introduction.
I am an associate professor of Migration History at UC Davis, where I write about Syrian, Lebanese, and Palestinian diasporas in the Americas. This work puts me in Middle East Studies and American histories, though my larger focus areas are #migration, #refugees within and from the region, #borders, and #mobilities. I usually post discussions, images from my research in #MENA migrations as well as good books and commentary on #highered. I also co-edit an open access MENA migration studies journal and boost emerging work coming from there.
I am eager to connect with you all! My Humanities Commons profile is https://hcommons.org/members/sfahrenthod/

Hi, my #introduction #firstpost at Mastodon. I’m Ignacio, anthropologist working for the University of Iceland in a project on mobilities and racism in Europe. Doing ethnographic fieldwork in the Canary Islands about the migration route from west Africa to #Spain & EU.
My interests are (1) #migration, #transnationalism & #mobilities; (2) #humanitarianism & #development; (3) #informality & #resistance.
Looking forward to find people & broad debates of #anthropology #ethnography #socialsciences
