An emphasis of our workshop at #MobileTartu was more reproducible, open and therefore scientific research. As part of this, students were asked to their work as code in the workshop repo. I'm happy to say they aced it! For many this was their first time using GitHub, let alone opening a Pull Request. Well done all 👏

Andres Sevstuk presenting at #MobileTartu on his work modelling change in pedestrian traffic given changes to the network. This is very impressive and could help planners in many cities make their cities better for active travel. Looking forward to giving these methods a spin in Leeds and beyond!

There were sooo many good things about the #MobileTartu conference in Estonia 🇪🇪
One of them was learning about an #OpenAccess origin-destination data in Spain 🇪🇸 and starting the development of a package to work with it.

So I presented the #MobiTwin project and initial results on how long-distance commuting has changed in Europe after COVID-19 at #MobileTartu.
Key take-aways: long-distance commuting has rebounded, but régional différences exist, and the structure of long-distance commuting networks has become more decentralized potentially leading to severe impacts for regions dependent on this type of mobility.

The fantastic Elias Willberg presents how exposure to urban greenery during daily mobility affects well-being in #MobileTartu
Key take-aways: Seasonality often overlooked, higher greenery often means worse accessibility, greenery in travel environments vary greatly across european cities

There are six members from @digigeolab presenting research on #mobility #migration #sustainability. Looking forward to hearing what others in the field have been working on!
The conference focuses on studying human mobility with novel data sources such as social media, mobile phone, gps, and many other forms of georeferenced spatial mobility data.

Excited to go to #MobileTartu to present the things we've been up to in @digigeolab when it comes to regional mobility.
I'm presenting our on-going work examining changes in long-distance commuting in Europe during 2012-2022 using big social media and Labour Force Survey data.
Still some figures need to be finalized, but I am looking forward to the conference. Anybody else from the fedi #geography #giscience and #geospatial community in #MobileTartu2024?
