The Minnesota State Fair is going on, and it's a tradition there to find the craziest food that is either (1) fried, or (2) served on a stick. (Or both.)

Some great math folks -- in particular, Chris Danielson of https://talkingmathwithkids.com/ -- started "Math On a Stick" at the State Fair years ago.

I volunteered there last week. It was super fun! Any math lovers in the Twin Cities should consider doing so.

Two days later, it's time to unpack my experience at the #mnstatefair
Arrived with the sister-in-law and her six yo, with plans to meet up with my wife & 4 kiddos a little later.
Parked at a lot across from the Fair for $30. After doing a park and ride last year, this was a justifiable expense I think I'd gladly incur again with young ones in tow.
No lines to get in, threat of afternoon storms kept the big crowds away. It was pleasant initially and warmed up quickly

All I had to do for the very nice folks in camouflage at the #mnstatefair was a set of pull-ups and fill out my name, address, birthdate, and social security number and they gave this nice lanyard #blessed

I spent 10.5 hours at the #MNStateFair today! I'm pooped, but it was a fun (and hot) day! Good to be back after two years. I probably don't need to go again next year, I like this every other year cadence 😅

So a beer delivery guy told me his company alone delivers 500 kegs of #beer per day to the #MNStateFair. Other companies probably up the total to around 1500 kegs per day. Wow!
