Tonight I’ve moved on from mulled wine to something a bit stronger! 😃

Ballasting has started - I haven’t done this for ages and the “fun” hasn’t diminished 😞

But on the +ve side I can now declare that work on the scenery has started 👍

Rail painting is now finished, so I took the 08 for a spin to see if it still worked. After some scrubbing and scraping I got nice smooth running. Next step is to glue the track down.

More rusty rail painting today.

Coffee, tasty treats and some Fat Boy Slim tunes helped ease things along. I even managed to keep the paint off the new Christmas jumper!

I’m getting there - mostly touching-up to do and then on to ballasting.

Today I got stuck right in to painting the rails with Rail Match Dark Rust.
It’s slow-going but makes for a big improvement.

Looking at the photos I’ll need to do some touching-up. It’s very difficult to tell the areas I’ve missed, from the areas of paint that catch the light!

This will take a while but worth the effort I think.
