Aaaaand we're done! It was a great concert on Saturday, a lot of fun and totally in awe of some of the soloists much further along the path than I am doing an awesome job with their performances.
Had Hall of the Mountain King on repeat in my brain constantly since Friday night!

Making progress! Only two more bungs to go until I'm fully open holed!
The first three are of course the easiest ... The next two might be something of a challenge!
Absolutely delighting in playing the new flute, the range and quality of sound is just so much more than I could get from my trusty student flute.
Thanks #Miyazawa for making such beautifully crafted instruments that bring such joy to my day!

Well, today marks an important step in my life as a #flautist ... We removed the first bung on my open holed flute! Starting with F ... which actually feels like it's probably the easiest!
It's a whole new sensory experience which has thrown me quite a bit .. but I'll get used to it!
I got this flute about 4 months ago and it's been quite the learning experience, a whole new ball game playing on a fully silver flute compared with a nickel student flute!

A little update on my flute practice!
This is my lovely second hand, new to me Miyazawa flute.
Full silver flutes take a lot more puff to play, getting there!
From ABRSM grade 5, Out Walking by Errollyn Wallen.
Currently have bungs in the holes - as I get more confident we will remove them one at a time until I'm fully open!
Loving it, the sound is much more beautiful and rich!
