Anyone have Wikipedia editing privileges? I just happened to notice a small typo (spelling error) under https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hades#Cult_and_epithets, subhead: “In Latin or Etruscan:” where the next to last bullet entry reads: “• Uragus, expressive of bis power over fire.”
That “bis” should obviously be corrected to “his”.

finaly, a common misspelling. Don't read too much into this. A little misspelling and what? You gonna change your whole meme just because of a common misspelling? No. Don't.

Someone at Time magazine must not have had "time" to proofread their #CookieConsent form. Either that or someone at Ketch failed to "catch" the #misspelling.

Someone is looking for an "armature cameraman."
:catthinking:
That's an original misspelling of "amateur" that I've never seen before
"Amatuer" yes.
"Armature" no.

When I was a teen, one of the cousins brought to Grandma's house a spray bottle empty of its original product. Cousin had filled it with hairspray & stuck a piece of masking tape on it, thus renaming it.
But she had written "HAIR SPARY" on the masking tape.
We laughed about it (she did too!) all summer. "Hair spary" replaced "hairspray" in our lexicon that year & several years following.
30 years on, I still sometimes catch myself typing "spary."

I just misspelled “flute” as “fluit.” That’s a new one. #AmWriting #misspelling #oops

Are there words that you always type incorrectly, but always manage to correct?
This time of years mine is "pumpking."

I just this mornng realized that I have been misspelling "cremini" (the mushrooms) for *years*. I thought it was "crimini" and kept wondering why it was flagged as misspelled. Duh.
Live and learn.
Update: On further investigation, I find that "crimini" is an accepted variant spelling of "cremini" (or vice versa). Both seem to be accepted.
