You have GOT to be kidding me.

Mission Hospital in #Asheville snagged the 95 extra beds the state was awarding to the area, even after countless failures of HCA to effectively run this system.

We had 3 other systems vying for these beds, and at least 100 people at the community meeting when we got to talk about which group should be awarded the beds.

This is the worst possible outcome.

Ran into a newish neighbor today whom I knew was moving. Found out they are another #MissionHospital #ER doc who is fleeing the chaos instituted under #HCA's purchase of the Mission system here in #Asheville.

Patient care has suffered, there is not enough staff, people are burned out, specialties are closing.

A total, unacceptable placement of profit over everything else.
