From 2014 and a four year old Jagger: the entire time he lived in this house, a little more than a decade, he would NOT go downstairs to the basement but he always had a thing about being there when I’d come back up with a load of laundry.

1. I can sleep anywhere I choose, even if it means you trip over me.
2. Let me outside even though I just came in - there's an area I forgot to sniff!
3. You must feed me every goodie you eat.
4. Don't "SHHHHH!" me while you're on the phone - I heard the wind blowing the leaves.
5. If it lands on the floor, it's mine! -

Gizmo isn’t the only pet who follows me into the kitchen, looking for a treat; about this time 11 years ago, it was time for me to go to bed. I took a mug I had some hot tea in to the kitchen and Jagger stood in the entry to the kitchen and looks up at me. "Good night, Jagger bagger," I’d tell him as I would lean over to kiss him on the top of his head. Such a good boy.

One of the funniest things about Jagger around this time of year as the snow was melting off was the way he would desperately hold on to his beloved snow: about this time six years ago he desperately clung to the last remnant on deck. He coulda laid down and relaxed anywhere else on deck that day but he evidently felt the need to hug that snow.

About this time five years ago: just when I’d get settled in the La-Z-Boy with a nice hot cup of tea, Jagger would decide he needed to go out. “OK, boyo,” I’d tell him. “You win.”

10 years ago tonight: one of a few times a six-year old Jagger had come to me wanting to go outside in what was subzero weather at the time and after I'd settled in to watch "South Park." It never failed but yanno what? I never minded at all; he just wanted to play in the snow.

One evening about four years ago I was sitting there drinking my hot tea on a 10 degree evening and Jagger actually brought me this Santa hat. I’m not sure he expected to be wearing it and have his picture taken, though. He could be such a lovable goober.

From about this time in 2017: first snow of the season and took Jagger out that morning. He knew the snow was there and couldn't wait ‘cause he loved the snow. It was packy snow so he'd get his nose in it and do the snow plow thing, making little snowballs as he went. Then came the obligatory snow roll.

Tuneage of a little more traditional fare for out here on deck that first came to my attention 45 years ago during my sophomore year in high school and it STILL kicks ass. I still tend to miss Jagger, especially on beautiful days ondeck like this one; sometimes, I still think I need to fill his bone with peanut butter and treats before coming outside.

There’s a little path to the right in a corner of the yard Jagger and I would go up to the top of a hill that looks out over a lake. He would, from time to time, stop to look out over the scenery. Whenever he’d do that, I thought to myself he was looking over his little kingdom. Then, he’d go do his “Jagger dance” to find a place to take care of bidness.
