Playing and being loud. In another week, Smeagol will not be safe on the sofa.

He has been so good with her, she rarely is more than a few feet from him, taking all her signals from him. Good thing he's a good dog, solid recall, good listening skills.

We do give him time to be without her pestering him.

Miss Gertie is 9 pounds, 13 ounces. First vet visit, microchip and vaccines, so she can go outside, but there's nothing but snow!

Little Miss is 8 pounds today, from 11 ounces when she was taken in .

It's like someone just shrunk a full sized Boxer.

Mr. Smeagol is a perfect older brother.

Starting out at 11 ounces, about 4 weeks ago, Miss Gertie is about 4 pounds today. She plays, barks and growls, and she's moved off the bottle, to very soft, ground puppy kibble mixed in formula.

She also sleeps a lot!

She's a pound and a half, nearly.
This was 5 am after a bottle.

Now the not "cute puppy part" if you're still with me.

I'm still fighting big feelings about her and I know it's not her fault--one that's been nagging me is my wife's decision to get and keep her will be affectign me for the next ten to twleve years, or more.

And that eliminates my getting a dog of my own---again. I'll be in my late 70's when I might get another chance.

I know I need to tell her I feel this way, but I don't need a fight over it.
