The Accidental Phone Call

When I was a teen in the late 80s in New Brunswick, I was friends with a Jehovah’s Witness girl named Julie Nahornov. She had a sister named Mona. She introduced me to all sorts of fun music and made me my first mix tape. She moved away to Alberta, I think, where her dad Nick had a horse ranch. They harvested horse piss for birth control pills or perm solution, I think. I’ve been trying for years to locate her, but no luck. I hope she’s doing well. #MissedConnection #OldFriend #Memories

@publius @psztrnk when I travel in the USA, I take #amtrak. over 20yrs, avg 2-4 times per year. #missedConnection only about 4-5 times and each time they had a plan to get me to my destination when I arrived at the station. Only once were we so late that a hotel room was included.
sometimes they try too hard and i would have preferred a hotel room.
In all cases it was the freight corps slowing us down and causing amtrak to spend more money,
