Counter to what people bball believe, #misogyny and #misandry aren't necessarily based in #hatred, but can be mired in #prejudice and #ignorance.

One such idea is that "#BoysWillBeBoys" basically becomes an excuse, a piece of apologia, that women can attribute abuse amongst men, and that the only reason you're sad is because you lost.

I mean it was interesting in general to be out with a group that involved girls that were clearly (also) into guys: Not just in terms of some of the getting treated like a real girl that evening, but also in terms of how I was treated when I went to these kinds of events as a guy: I would have never done things like that, but I feel I still got all the #misandry and accusations thrown my way anyways but none of the invitations that some of these guys got.

You wonder why some guys are so pissed of by some of the modern pro-consent messaging? It might be because they don’t break consent, don’t get to dance with the girls, and get thrown accusations against them, that are fundamentally sexist against them.

So I can now understand the girls perspective a bit better, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not also annoyed by many of them!

(Also: You can absolutely tell me that that is just how things go for girls, few things are as gender-affirming as that. 😉︎)
