Was wäre, wenn ein Mensch aus einer Welt der Gewalt plötzlich einer Welt der Hoffnung begegnet — und nicht weiß, was er damit anfangen soll?
Ich schreibe gerade eine Star Trek Fan Fiction Kurzgeschichte. Einen Dreiteiler. April 2063, wenige Tage vor dem ersten Kontakt zwischen Menschheit und Vulkaniern.
Im Mittelpunkt: Commander Jonathan Archer — aber nicht der den ihr kennt. Der aus dem Spiegeluniversum. Ein Mann, dessen gesamtes Weltbild auf Dominanz, Kontrolle und Misstrauen aufgebaut ist. Der in eine zerstörte Erde reist — und statt der erwarteten Schwäche etwas findet, das er nicht einordnen kann.
Eine Frau namens Mara O'Donnell. Die den Krieg überlebt hat. Die verloren hat. Die nicht trotz ihrer Verluste stark ist — sondern wegen ihnen.
Für Archer sind Verletzungen Schwäche. Und Schwäche bedeutet Tod. Dass Mara ihre Verletzungen in eine Quelle der Stärke umgewandelt hat, fasziniert und erschreckt ihn. Gäbe es wirklich einen anderen Weg?
Das Ende bleibt bewusst offen.
