He forced a young #Black man to shuck and jive to keep his job, ignoring the young man's pleas to evolve his character.

Your hero didn't want to frighten his fellow whites with any sense of nuance or humanity granted to the #minstrel he created.

All of his shows were about appealing to a specific white sensibility, not at all about #racial justice.

It was peak #whiteLiberalism. Yes, he portrayed a range of white female characters and circumstances, but not so for his Black characters.
