  1. A pair of eights for us today from the Minoan Tarot. Meanings below. This deck is my creation, made the old-fashioned way, with ink on paper, available at bookstores everywhere. More card images and deck details: minoantarot.com/

Eight of Daggers: It's time to move, to take steps away from the position you're in now, either figuratively or literally. The obstacles to your forward motion have been released.

Eight of Labryses: You're not actually as restricted as you believe. Anxiety is clouding your ability to reason properly. Figure out the real reason you're worried, then let it go and move on.

  2. This week's Minoan Tarot cards.

Ace of Labryses: Let your mind lead you this week. You may need to puzzle out the solution to a problem, setting emotion aside and working only with the facts. You may find yourself coming up with new ideas that work better than the old ones. Regardless, lean on your ability to think things through clearly and in detail, then follow through on your ideas.

Eight of Labryses: There are solutions to be found, even if you can't see them at the moment. This card suggests that your thinking is less than clear, that you're not seeing what's really there, possibly because of anxiety or because you have preconceived notions about what a solution could look like. Take a step back and reassess the situation from a purely factual stance, and you'll see the way out.

  3. This week's Minoan Tarot cards:

Three of Daggers: Time for a little something new! Whether you recently started it or haven't taken the first steps yet, you can be confident you will do well. Expect a few small victories right away - a good start!

Four of Daggers: Keep on keepin' on! You're going in the right direction. Don't let others confuse or misdirect you. Their anxieties aren't your problem. You know where you're headed. So stick with it and you'll get to where you want to be.

  4. This week's Minoan Tarot cards:

Six of Daggers: Well done! You've put in the necessary effort and moved a step or two forward. You've accomplished something, so take the time to enjoy it before you put your nose back to the grindstone.

Judgment: It's time to make some hard choices. Make your decisions based on what you feel is right, regardless of what anyone else thinks. This may mean you have to change direction or move away from some people and toward others. As long as you stick with your principles, it will turn out all right in the end.

  5. Your Minoan Tarot cards for the week:
    .
Justice: Cause and effect; consequences. Justice means making decisions as a reflection of the underlying divine order and acknowledging that you are responsible for the choices you make. Is there a decision you need to make? Doing so openly and honestly is the best path, since any decision one of us makes affects us all. This doesn't mean everyone has to be happy with your decision. You just need to do what you feel is right.
    .
Six of Rhytons: Nostalgia, memories of the past. Don't let rosy-hued memories influence rational decision-making. The past is past; view it through a lens of clarity. You're no longer in that past situation. You're not the same person anymore, so you no longer need to respond the way you would have then. Make your choices based on who you are now.

  6. Today's Minoan Tarot cards.

Ace of Horns: Stay grounded and attend to the material practicalities of life. This includes your health and well-being. Slow down, be patient, and make sure you're doing what needs to be done, whether that's paying bills, finishing projects, or taking a nap.

Two of Horns: The world is in flux, both the Big World and our own private lives. It will all even out in the end, but for now, stay focused on whatever needs to be done each day. Focus on the practicalities, and the new pattern will sort itself out soon enough.

  7. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Priestess of Rhytons: Embodying the heart-led life. Allow your empathy and your intuition to take their rightful place in your life. Your heartfelt warmth and your ability to take other people's emotions seriously help provide a safe environment for the people around you to be their true selves. This is a valuable aspect of your being. Honor it accordingly.

Seven of Horns: Be practical and prudent with the material aspects of your life. That can be difficult at this time of year, since extravagance is so fashionable. But being careful and responsible now will give you a much brighter and more enjoyable future.

  8. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Lady of Labryses: The creative thinker. As you puzzle out the solutions to your problems, allow yourself to think outside the box. Yes, some of the ideas you come up with will be impractical and you'll have to set them aside. But the workable solutions that you do find will put you much farther ahead than any amount of conventional thinking ever could.

Lady of Horns: Patience and care. Stay grounded. Take the time to examine every angle of the situation and then move forward with slow deliberation, using delicacy and tact. Don't let anyone else push you to move quickly. Take your time, and your patience will be rewarded.

  9. Today's #MinoanTarot cards - a rather unusual reading in which the #Tarot cards misbehave a bit.

Six of Horns: Gifts and unexpected bounty. You've received something - maybe tangible, maybe not - that adds value to your life. Cherish it, show your gratitude to the source that has given it to you, and pay it forward when you can.

The Tower: This card showed up last week, too, so apparently this one is still in process. Sometimes life is about drastic change. Like with the previous card, this might be tangible, material-life change, or it might be more of an internal shift. Regardless, it's a big one, maybe kind of scary, and it's tempting to try to hold on and keep the change from happening. This card, though, tells you the change will happen no matter how hard you hold on. So it might be easier on all concerned if you give in and let it happen.

  10. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Justice: Cause and effect - that is, consequences - in your life. Justice means shaping your life as a reflection of the underlying divine order by making the best possible choices and accepting the consequences of those choices. It's time to make a decision. The best decisions are made openly and honestly, making the best choice possible even if some people aren't happy with it.

The Tower: The <ahem> is about to hit the fan. This imminent change and its subsequent upheaval need to happen - you can't build a new pattern until the old one dissolves. It may not be pleasant, and it may be hard to accept, but sometimes you just need to let the tower fall.

Ace of Labryses: Strength of mind; mental fortitude. It's time to put your brain to work puzzling out the best solutions to your problems. Given the previous two cards, this one suggests that you need to analyze the situation and make your decisions from a place of mental clarity, unfettered by emotion or passion. That can be hard - we are emotional beings, after all - but sometimes the best choices come from looking at the cold, hard facts.

  11. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Five of Rhytons: You have experienced loss, and that can be painful. But don't let the loss fill up your vision until all you can see is it. There are positive aspects to this situation. Focusing on them may or may not lessen the discomfort, but it will allow you to put the situation in perspective and begin to move forward again.

Ten of Daggers: Sometimes the weight gets to be too much. This might be due to choices you have made or been pressured into, or simply due to life circumstances. Regardless, it's time to remove some of that weight: hand responsibilities to others, lean on others (this includes deities if you're inclined in that direction). Lighten the load a little so you can move freely again.

  12. Today's #MinoanTarot cards are all about who we are and what we embody in relationship with others.

Priestess of Rhytons: The Water aspects within you that allow you to nurture your fellow human beings and support them in their relationships with themselves. Your empathy and intuition are valuable traits that allow you to help others and to find your own way in life. Your inner steadiness and warm acceptance of all aspects of human nature create a safe environment for those around you. Treasure these aspects of yourself. They are far more valuable than our materialist society wants to admit.

Priestess of Daggers: Priestess of Daggers. The Fire in you that supports and nourishes your own and other people's passion and creativity. Your Fire is honest, steady, and stable, creating an open, welcoming environment in which others can flourish. Your own creativity and passion inspire others to trust their inner Fire, so don't hide yours or diminish it simply because modern society tells you it's less valuable than more material concerns.

  13. Today's Minoan Tarot cards.

The High Priestess: Inner knowing: the inner voice, the higher self - the stuff you can't access via the analytical mind. Listen to that voice and let it guide you - it will lead you to places you can't reach any other way.

Three of Daggers: First fruits of the harvest. How appropriate for this time of year in the northern hemisphere! But you can take this one figuratively as well as literally - the beginning of a new adventure, the initial success of a new project, trying something you haven't done before. This card may be nudging you to give that new thing a try - it's suggesting there will be positive results.

  14. Today's Minoan Tarot cards.

Six of Daggers: Winner! You've put in the effort, done the work, and now you get the recognition and success for that effort. This isn't about luck. It's because you worked your way through to the end of the learning curve. Congratulations!

Three of Horns: You didn't achieve that success by yourself. You had help. You had teachers and companions and helpers. Don't forget them as you move forward.

  15. Today's Minoan Tarot cards.

Nine of Rhytons: Time for a feast! Not literally, perhaps, but some good things are happening that give you a sense of pleasure and fulfillment. This specific experience will only last a short while, because things in life change as we go along. But it is indicative of a general trend toward the positive that will last longer than just this one bit.

Maid of Labryses: Independent thought, healthy curiosity, stretching yourself intellectually. Whatever issues you're facing right now, allow yourself to think *way* outside the box, and you'll find solutions. Don't give up, and don't reject solutions just because they're odd before you examine them thoroughly. The answer you need probably doesn't look like you think it does.

  16. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Sacrifice: Giving something up in order to receive something else. You can't pick up something new until you've emptied your hand of what it's already holding. Let it go. Allow the old pattern to dissolve so the new one can form. This is one of three cards of success. The Chariot means succeeding by controlling others; Strength means succeeding by controlling yourself; Sacrifice means succeeding by giving up control. It's scary, but sometimes it's the best way forward.

Two of Labryses: Stalemate. This is a situation where the two people or forces involved are equally matched and neither has the advantage. This is a difficult and uncomfortable situation. But this card is telling you to hang on to the status quo for now. Don't try to force a resolution. The situation will resolve itself soon. Note that this is a Minor Arcana card, so it points to a less important, short-term aspect of life, while Sacrifice is a Major Arcana card, suggesting a more long-term, overarching aspect of life.

  17. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Eight of Daggers: Time to get moving! Obstacles and difficulties that have stalled you for a long time are finally out of the way, and you can move forward. Expect a level of activity that you have been hoping for.

Six of Rhytons: Looking to the past can be helpful as long as you also remember to look forward. Something has happened to trigger a memory, and if you look at it from the correct angle, you'll find the lesson and the value in it. Just remember that you're not the same person you were then, so you don't have to respond to that kind of situation the way you did in the past.

  18. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Youth of Daggers: Enthusiasm is great, but you need skill and mastery to actually move ahead. In this fast-paced modern world, we're encouraged to be impatient, to want everything NOW. But patience can help you savor the experience, and training can hone your skills so you can more easily achieve the goals you desire.

The Emperor: You have the self-control and sense of internal authority to set out on the path you want to follow. You know who you are and where you want to go. Let that knowledge rise to the surface where it can inform and direct not just your long-term plans but your daily life as well.

  19. Today's Minoan Tarot cards:

Lady of Labryses: Think your way out of your problems. Find new angles for old issues and puzzle out unique solutions that aren't bound by "common sense" or "common knowledge." Now is the time for thinking that's not just outside the box, but thinking that forgets about the box altogether.

Priest of Rhytons: Let your heart lead you. Let your warmth overflow so those around you feel cherished and loved. Emotion is not a weakness, but a great strength. It is the cement that binds long-lasting relationships among friends and family. Cherish it the way it helps you cherish others.
