Just finished #SaturationPoint by #AdrianTchaikovsky, and it one of the weakest of his 1000s of stories, but still more thought-provoking and entertaining than most of the #SciFi out there.
It is a short little novella (the audiobook is only 4.75 hours long) that mashes up #MinistryForTheFuture, #Annihilation, and #TheIslandOfDrMoreau, in that a mad scientist is living in an uninhabitable equatorial zone where the wet-bulb temperature will quickly kill you.

Sadly here is a #MinistryForTheFuture related news item. The first chapter of the book is an account of an extreme #heatwave in #India that causes millions of deaths. Sadly, I think we will see something similar in India or South America very soon. Temperatures have reached over 50C in parts of India in recent days and there are now water shortages in Delhi. Love this. Reminds me of Kim Stanley Robinson's ideas in a few of his novels that sails could again play a part in global shipping, in a slower and more sensible future. (Along with the return of dirigibles in the air.)
