  1. Your MVP should make someone say "wow" not "meh." ✨ Early adopters forgive bugs but never forgive boringness. What's the one feature that truly delights your users? #MinimumViableProduct #ProductDevelopment #UserExperience

  2. Feels like I hit elite levels of what one can squeeze out of one software tool today - Was working on a real tricky car sound recording, to then flip it to a #Crankcase #Rev sound object / model.

I’ve been to the point of ”I wish the tool was less mvp” ages ago. For that it’s sort of fun to come across any very specific thing really, where you can push the tool to make it bend a little bit more.

  5. And finally the #concept is proven. I had to reimplement something that the #vendor did for us. And I had to flirt with the caustic waters of #jar #hell. But it’s in a state where someone could pick it up and run with it, and possibly even #reproduce it for some other application.

To evolve it to #minimumviableproduct that can be consumed by several dozen applications, we may need to factor out some of the foundational stuff so we can stay approximately #dry.

    For now, #sabbath. Code later.

  6. #SoftwareArchitecture, like life, consists of a series of trade-off decisions made with incomplete information & often under tremendous time pressure.

The art of making trade-offs is a matter of minimizing the team’s unhappiness with the architecture. No architecture is perfect, but it can be "good enough".

Besides a to launch a version there are a lot of tools I'd love to support:

    1. a Package Manager so people can just install & update shit easily:
    github.com/OS-1337/spm

    2. Good default Configs for a System like NTP & DNS Servers unless those are being offered per DHCP.

  20. So Houdini's standard component builder wrapped into an HDA with a few standardised settings to make lookdevs life easier has become our MVP asset builer. It handles a lot of tasks differently to how we would ultimately like it, but for now with our compressed timeline it'll do the trick!

  24. @agvbergin yesterday my one year old iPhone didn’t have a hang up button on a phone call. Or it was the unresponsive green button.

The call was to a helpline. The employee had to put me on hold, get a supervisor, to check this was happening and hang up.

The call had taken ages due to bad connection and this took more time. I hope it didn’t affect what the employee earned that day.

The call was caused by not great ux of a uk train co. Looked like content came last.
