@thofu Ich glaube, das mir #fdroid gerade eine Lösung angeboten hat. Wie auch immer #fdroid das in meine Timeline gebracht hat, keine Ahnung.

Die App macht wahrscheinlich einen dlna Server auf, den der Fernseher dann erkennt. Ich kann gerade nicht testen, weil meine Frau Tatort schaut.... Aber das klingt vernüftig und macht irgendwie Sinn. Meinen #minidlna Server auf dem #Raspberry nimmt der ja auch.

Ok, so #jellyfin is definitely better than the #minidlna I've been living with for a while now. Nto sure I'd use it for music, but movies and TV shows definitely.

I just have to move the transmission instance to the same box and setup everything so that files download in the right places easily, cause now I just had to rsync a bunch of stuff from one place to another and that was a bit annoying.

@gausby I still would really enjoy programming another restaurant POS solution, together with an engaged team. This would be a great env for elixir. On the other hand, I am enjoying the art of DLNA programming, because of #minidlna on a Pi and the lack of apps for my Sonos V1. Or driving some trains on Maerklin Digital.

В этой статье мы установим всё необходимое для работы Orange Pi Zero 3 в роли медиа сервера DLNA с Transmission. При этом система будет запускаться с жесткого диска, а для установки нам не потребуется подключать к Orange Pi клавиатуру либо дисплей. Купив Orange Pi Zero 3, я первым делом полез в интернеты искать гайд для установки нужной мне системы, но везде натыкался на гайды где все операции проводят подключая Orange Pi Zero 3 (далее апельсин) к дисплею через Micro-HDMI (которого у меня не было) и набирая все команды через клавиатуру. В общем мне показалось это глупым, а главное мне было лень покупать и ждать пока придет Micro-HDMI, поэтому я нашел способ установить всё через ssh и здесь детально его распишу.

Hey, glad you think it sounds good! So far, I’ve only tested casting content using MiniDLNA from my Debian (antiX) setup to a Samsung TV.

I’ve attached some screenshots and a short demo video below so you can check it out.

I haven’t tried casting music from YouTube or SoundCloud yet, or from Android to Debian, but I’ll let you know if I give it a shot. Hope this helps! 🤗

A weekend project of mine that actually turned out really useful for me. I have a network player hooked up to my amplifier that streams music over #DLNA, and I've been using #minidlna to great effect for a long time, but one thing was missing. A way to scrobble my listens to #last.fm.

I made a quick #Go program to watch the minidlna log for streaming requests and send that to last.fm.

It was very fun to write. Maybe it'll be useful to someone else as well?

Пытаюсь заставить телевизор открывать #DLNA. Вроде мой хост должен показываться на телевизоре в списке источников воспроизведения, подобно HDMI-портам, но ничего подобного не происходит. Проверил telnet, проверил браузером - показывает число видеофайлов (но какой-то гипертекстовой разметки или навигации не видать). Использую #minidlna из репозиториев Ubuntu. Телевизор #LG на последней #WebOS - вся документация ссылается на версии на 3-4 мажорных релиза старее, тех опций (smart share, фото и видео) там нет. В поиске во внутреннем store по DLNA тоже ничего. Нипанятна что делать. Хочется чтобы именно телевизор в схеме был активным устройством, чтобы ходил за кинцом на файлопомойку. С #VLC возился-возился, но он ещё больше для технарей. Есть вероятность что проблема может быть в файрволе и для работы DLNA нужен разрешённый #мультикаст в одну или обе стороны, но это не точно.

И вот спустя полтора часа такого пердолинга, мысли уровня - а не достать ли мне из шкафа свой старый проприетарный макбук с работающим с одной кнопки проприетарным #AirPlay? Евангелион сам себя не пересмотрит.

I read a little more about this. Seems quite sure that the #miniDLNA server really does not support .srt subtitle files. It's a pity because it was looking pretty nice, so well integrated to #OMV.

I may try other solutions, like #Serviio on top of the current OMV installation. Should not be more complex than having a federating instance in a Docker, right?

It's just that then I feel like the whole OVM concept is too huge to just handle a bunch of SMB mounts... I could easily do it with a plain Samba install...

I guess that this weekend I will do some tests and decide which route to take.

In FreedomBox 22.26, the "restrict console logins" feature was removed, and replaced by firewall rules to prevent users from accessing local services. This is to prevent a local user from bypassing authentication of services which are proxied by the web server.

@kellyn Perfect! The only Chrome extension I install from time to time is Secure Shell (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/secure-shell/iodihamcpbpeioajjeobimgagajmlibd). I use it to mount a harddrive from #Turris #Omnia used in a #MiniDLNA server to add missing subtitles to movies etc.

Cool to see @Raspberry_Pi here at the fediverse. My favorite piece of hw to run random stuff on. Atm I've got #nextcloud, #HomeAssitant, #deconz, #minidlna, #pihole, and #octopi spread over three RPi4s here at home. And a couple or robots built around PiZeroWs. So much fun for me - and the kids. (yes, I claim it is for them, but I also enjoy it 😜)
