Since the county is home to zero (0) incorporated communities, the county seat must therefore be an unincorporated community, and in the case of Hawthorne, the unincorporated area claims a population of over three thousand (3,000) residents with the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum and the Hawthorne Army Depot situated nearby.
