  2. Don’t Take Life Too Seriously

I contain death within me, in this cage I call body. In this cage is an emptiness so vast, a vastness so dense, it's beyond comprehension. The cage is constantly fighting its prisoner, the entity, the phenomenon. Entropy rises, and the nothingness expands with it, the structure I call myself coming apart. I start to wonder: is there a "me" without an "I"? Where is "there" without "what"? I call it death - this vastness, this insanity, this unknown entity that exists yet doesn't. My continuity […]

  11. Behind every harvest is a young farmer who dared to learn something new. Our youth aren't just working the land they're building skills, discipline, and a future rooted in self reliance. Farming teaches patience, but it also teaches hope.
Together, we're cultivating more than crops we're cultivating change.

  12. #weeklyreview 35/2026

Slightly under the weather this week. Guess I picket up some sort of summer flu from K2. But recovering already. Always weird to be sick in summer as you can’t really tell whether you’re sweating because of temperature or fever.

Due to this we eventually stayed in Berlin that weekend between week 34 and 35. Doesn’t happen that often anymore.

Took the time to walk around the city a little bit with K3.

Finally saw the newly renovated Mokka Milch Eis Bar at the Karl-Marx-Allee. Just from the outside though. It looks rather beautiful in my eyes.

Rest of the work week was sort of unspectacular. Depends on your viewpoint. Of course there was all sorts of cursing because of how complicated we managed to make the process of hosting a simple Web container. But that’s a different story. Guess that’s just the way how large companies operate. They have all sorts of constraints and requirements you don’t know from small companies and start-ups.

    Burgers

This week the beer beauties met for burgers at The Bird again. So happy this place is still around and still delivers rather delicious burgers.

Think I’ve been there first time like 15 years ago or so.

    Dorffest

On the weekend our village had its Dorffest. We don’t have this every year but this year our part of the village decided to do the organisation again.

What I love most about these is the community effort in organising it. Almost everyone in our village chips in in some sort and together it’s fun a quick. Putting up all the tents and decorations etc. usually just takes about 2 hrs. Same so for the cleaning up afterwards. Not even two hours and everything is almost pristine again. And while at it we have fun conversations and catch up with each other.

This year we had again some small competitions at the Dorffest. I managed to win the rubber boot throwing contest 😀

And of course I created a LinkedIN style posting about it:

🚀 Excited to share a major milestone in my personal growth journey. 🚀

Onwards and upwards! 🎯

  15. Why We Follow Trends Without Questioning Them (And How to Stop)

You bought that phone because everyone had it.
You watched that show because everyone was talking about it.
You shared that opinion because “everyone thinks so.”
When was the last time you actually asked yourself: why do I believe this?
    We’re wired to follow
Humans are social animals. For thousands of years, fitting in meant survival. If your tribe rejected you, you died. So your brain developed a simple rule: agree with the group, stay safe.
That rule still runs in your head today. But the tribe has changed.
Now your tribe is 500 million Instagram users. A 24-hour news cycle. A WhatsApp group with 47 relatives. An algorithm that feeds you whatever keeps you scrolling.
And your brain can’t tell the difference between “fitting in with my tribe” and “falling for a trend.”
    How trends hijack your brain
Social proof: When you see 10,000 people doing something, your brain assumes it must be right. Because in the ancient world, if everyone was running, you ran too.
Fear of missing out (FOMO): Your brain treats being left out as physical pain. So you say yes to plans you don’t enjoy, buy things you don’t need, and adopt opinions you haven’t earned.
Algorithm reinforcement: You like one post about a topic. The algorithm shows you 50 more. Within a day, you believe “everyone thinks this way.” But it’s just the algorithm reflecting your own clicks back at you.
    The danger of unearned opinions
The problem isn’t liking a trend. The problem is adopting opinions you haven’t thought through.

You hate a politician you’ve never researched — because your feed does.

You support a cause you don’t understand — because your friends do.

You judge a person you’ve never met — because a reel told you to.
These aren’t your opinions. They’re borrowed. And borrowed opinions are the most dangerous kind — because you’ll defend them without knowing why.
How to stop (3 simple questions)
Before you adopt a trend, share a post, or form an opinion, ask:
    1. Did I choose this, or did the algorithm choose it for me?
If you can’t trace where an opinion came from, it’s probably not yours.
    2. If everyone believed the opposite, would I still believe this?
If the answer is no, your belief is based on social pressure, not conviction.
    3. Can I explain this in my own words — without quoting someone else?
If you can’t, you don’t understand it yet. And that’s okay. But don’t defend it until you do.
The courage to think for yourself
Thinking for yourself is uncomfortable. It means standing alone sometimes. It means admitting you don’t know. It means changing your mind when you learn something new.
But the alternative — drifting through life as an echo of other people’s opinions — is worse.
A Great India doesn’t need 1.4 billion people thinking the same thing. It needs 1.4 billion people who can think for themselves.

What’s a trend you followed without questioning — and later regretted? Share in the comments.
