Oggi abbiamo fatto un po' di lavori in #campagna. Mio nipote è arrivato addobbato come un Mandaloriano, mancava solo il jet-pack.
A una certa ha sfoderato un paio di forbicioni elettrici, pericolosissimi perché una volta partita la stretta non distinguono un ramo un po' più duro da un dito e si fermano solo a fine corsa.
I #millenial stanno perdendo sempre più la doppia intenzionalità degli attrezzi e degli oggetti simbolici, soprattutto quelli legati alla #terra. Il peggior delitto del #consumo

As an #Australian and a #millenial who is closer to 40 than 30, I am starting to feel really down about a lack of political representation.

This isn't just a recent thing, I'm talking since high school over two decades ago until today. It feels like the same bigoted people are feeding the same evil rich narcissistic parasites, preventing any wider meaningful discussions and reform.

I'm so sick of living in a never ending groundhog day of being told my point of view doesn't matter. Sick of it.

As a #millenial dealing with boomers feels like being in the passenger seat with a drunk driver and you keep saying "let me drive, I know where we are going, i am sober" and they will not pull over yet you are so scared they are going to hurt people that you do not duck and roll out of the car.

One thing that connects #GenX with younger generations is preparing for crazy shit to happen at schools.

We did "duck and cover" drills when I was a very little kid, to "protect" us from the Soviet nuclear menace. And ever since Columbine, the millennials and others have had to do lockdown drills.

As Millennials age into making nostalgia content, one thing I really, really hate is when GenX childhood experiences are erased from existence because millennials just found out about a thing in the 90s, and they start the timeline of existence for that thing at their own childhoods. When hello, that thing existed for 80s or 70s children as well.

I do try to be patient and mostly curious with "incorrect" perspectives of younger generations, because I know I've got those wrt times before me...I generally find it annoying at worst, and interesting at best, because forgetting is the haunting existential problem we're all caught up in...

But like, what the hell. Yes, I, too sold magazines/gift wrap door to door to get points for cheap-ass rewards. Yes, in the early 80s. No, that isn't just YOUR memory.

If you're making a 36min video about it, you must have done your research, so would it kill you call it "The wild world of 70s-2000s fundraisers"? (Or earlier if it started earlier.)

Likewise with Scholastic Book Fairs. The other day someone claimed their Millennial experience of learning to love to read at the book fair was unique to their generation, and like NO SONNY. *shakes cane*

Remembering is important, and if it's important for you, then it's important for us, and like, hello, here we are. 👋🏻
