Nachtrag von Mittwoch. Da war #millefiori auf dem Tisch. Titel hatte ich noch nie gehört. Wurde mir aber beim Leihen von #spieleoffensive vorgeschlagen und hatte bei #bgg ne 7,4. Und tatsächlich spielt es sich wirklich leicht, aber auch taktisch. Zu zweit kommt nicht alles raus, daher am Wochenende nochmal zu dritt. Und es gibt eine Erweiterung mit 7,8.

So, I made a lovely #polymerclay #millefiori #pdcjubileecane in shades of blue and glittery gold. It was intended to replace my 4-year-old "Lapis Jubilee" cane, which I love, and of which I am down to a sliver. But I got the colors wrong in my notes from 2020. Looks like Antique Gold and Ultramarine Blue are right, but I think maybe Cobalt Blue should have been Periwinkle (a now discontinued Premo color). So I guess I have more work ahead of me 🫣

I periodically sort through my leftovers - excess beads from a project, some a bit wonky, experiments, etc. - and stitch together a complete necklace or bracelet. Here's the latest example: feels a bit ancient, like something excavated. Embedding slices of decorative cane is a technique as old as Classical antiquity. Here I've combined this with another technique: adding powdered enamels and encasing them. I've used a light blue and pure white. Fortuitously, some of this has "burned" to become gray. Normally, this would be undesirable. But because it compliments the blue and white so well, resembling a turbulent sky, I've accepted it. #glass #beads #hotglass #glassart #lampwork #handmade #millefiori #enamel #oregon #MastoArt
