  1. Heute beinahe den Zug in #MilanoCentrale verpasst, weil es an der Zutrittskontrolle einen Stau gab. Wirklich doofes Konzept!

  2. CW: The last train…

Serious engineering works are going to shut down the direct line between Geneva and Milano from Sunday 9th June until 8th September.

I am on the very last through train before they rip the rails up and lower the ballast by about 1m to increase the allowed loading gauge (“gabarit” for the French, “sagoma limite” for the Italians) for freight trains on the Simplon between Domodossola and Sesto Calende.

Here’s the EC42 arriving from Venice with its classic delay (10-50 minutes depending on the phase of the Moon) before we board.

As a final hurrah until September on platform 11 instead of 4 for the panic of the “commuters” like myself!

  4. The #Italo Lounge isn't particularly quiet nor charming. BUT you get to be above the platforms 😍

  6. Little trip by train to Como!

Italian trains are very fast and good!
The one drawback is in short distance trips seats don’t recline.
