Just found out about the #Fosstodon drama... Good writeup by @BryceWrayTX

After researching other #instances on https://mastodonservers.net/servers/top, the top Mastodon servers alternatives for me are (updated): @hachyderm @[email protected] and @milan

Will decide soon which server to migrate to... Just realised the content won't be transferred when moving servers. 😐

a few updates regarding my art socials:

i plan to migrate my account to baraag within a couple of days but wanted to give a heads up first! basically i'm doing so for financial reasons. the higher number of eyes on my art would be better for getting commissions etc. in theory.

i do have an alt made here for the purpose of little space and agere-type postings and maybe some rambling here or there, because in the end i do still feel the most comfortable here and want to stick around.

thanks everyone who has been so supportive to me on my art journey so far, it means the world :blobcatheart:

Honest thoughts on #migratingservers

I switched #instances today from @cupoftea.social to @bookstodon.com

#CupofTea was great, I just wanted a server that better matched my interests and region

A lot of #fediverse users talk about how easy #migration is. While it was easy for me to figure out, I don’t think the average consumer could

It’s also disappointing that my previous posts can’t follow me to this server

Overall, it feels like I just moved some settings, not my full account :(
